EHS Laboratories Inc. services
Lab Services
Asbestos Services
EHS Laboratories has the capacity to analyze and provide accurate results on approximately a quarter of a million asbestos samples per year. The asbestos laboratory consists of three categories: Bulk Materials (PLM). Airborne (PCM). Soil, Sediment and Vermiculite.
Lead Services
Lead is a highly toxic metal found in small amounts in the earth’s crust. Because of its abundance, low cost, and physical properties, lead and lead compounds have been used in a wide variety of products including paint, ceramics, pipes, solders, gasoline, batteries, and cosmetics. Since 1980, federal and state regulatory standards have helped to minimize or eliminate the amount of lead in consumer products and occupational settings. Today, the most common sources of lead exposure in the United States are lead-based paint in older homes, contaminated soil, household dust and drinking water.
Mold Services
Air Sampling: Samples include Air-O-Cell, Micro 5 & Cyclex D. This analysis involve spore counting and identification of different categories of mold spores. The report includes spore counts for each category of spores and the grand total spore count for all spores per cubic meter of air.
PCB Services
In the U.S. polychlorinated biphenyls (PCBs) were widely used by industry beginning in the 1920s until 1979 when production was banned. The most common PCBs were sold under the trade name Aroclor followed by a number to designate the percent of chlorine by weight in the mixture.
Radon Services
Radon is a naturally occurring radioactive gas that is colorless, odorless, and tasteless. It is formed by the natural breakdown of uranium in rock, soil and water. Radon gas moves up through the soil and can be drawn into our homes by slight pressure differences. Once inside, radon can become trapped and build up to unsafe levels.
Toxicity Characteristic Leaching Procedure. (TCLP) Services
TCLP is one of the Federal EPA test methods that is used to characterize waste as either hazardous or non-hazardous for the purpose of disposal. TCLP is an acronym for Toxicity Characteristic Leaching Procedure.
Water Services
The quality of water is important. Knowing the basics about water testing and treatment can help you diagnose and address water quality issues. EHS Laboratories offers drinking water analysis packages in a wide array of sizes in order to meet the needs of Home Inspectors and Home Owners as well as State/Local Health Departments.
