 A key element of success with cuttings is reducing ‘evaporative demand’ to limit water stress, thereby promoting vigorous wound healing and rapid rooting. The EvapoMister is the ideal way to control mist or fog because it actually measures this ‘evaporative demand’, responding to light, humidity, temperature, wind and leaf wetting. Thus there is no need to adjust timers to compensate for weather, season, ventilation, shading etc.

To produce a control to provide a cutting with the optimum conditions of growth. In the early stages of growth the control can be set to give predominantly fog conditions. As the cutting matures, the interval between fogging can be increased thereby effectively weaning the plant.

This versatile and accurate control is very simple to set up and use. The precise silicon sensing element is accurate from 0°C to 100°C and only part of this range is utilised. The sensor is factory calibrated and requires no onsite calibration. If the sensor is damaged it can be easily replaced with a new one requiring no re calibration. To use adjust the set point to the desired level, for instance 20°C. If the measured temperature is 18°C, heat will be applied until the measured temperature reaches 20.5°C, at this point heat is removed until the measured temperature falls below 19.5°C. The differential of 1°C provides a smooth control and prevents `relay chatter` or hunting.
