Clean Water Act Compliance
While the Environmental Protection Agency works through the implications of the Second Circuit Court decision related to the implementation of the Phase II Final Rule - Clean Water Act, ENERCON continues to support the electricity generation industry with environmental and engineering services. These services are geared to minimize financial and operational impacts for operating plants, while satisfying a continually changing regulatory landscape. Our foundation for compliance melds a broad spectrum of biological, technical, financial, and legal strategies through cost effective environmental assessment, operations evaluation, technology design, and economic feasibility into site-specific solutions.

Fire Protection
Fire protection at nuclear facilities is unlike fire protection anywhere else. The complexity of the issue expands beyond life safety and property protection. Safe shutdown of the nuclear facility and prevention of radioactive material release are also prime considerations. Regulators have increased requirements because of the safety impact of fire protection. The complexity of the systems analysis and the code requirements for fire protection systems adds to the difficulty of maintaining compliance.
Radiation Analysis
ENERCON is a leading company in Radiation Shielding Analysis, Radiation Dose Assessment and Atmospheric Dispersion models.
Systems Engineering & Analysis
Analyses of systems in nuclear facilities require comprehensive engineering. The engineer must not only consider the specific system involved in the task, but the interaction of that system on all other plant systems. Quality performance in this area requires that projects be led by individuals with specific technical expertise and a fundamental knowledge of plant operations. Such projects also require attention to detail.
Groundwater Tritium Monitoring
ENERCON has performed a number of assessments and evaluations to assist nuclear facilities in determining the potential for groundwater contamination by tritium. These assessments include complete hydro-geologic reviews, engineering reviews, and review of groundwater and surface water uses in the area. They also include the identification of data gaps in the hydro-geologic and engineering assessments previously performed, and recommended action items and/or field activities which address the facility`s groundwater monitoring capabilities. ENERCON also can drill monitoring wells and/or set up instrumentation for proper monitoring of groundwater flow and radionuclide dispersion.
