Environmental calculations

Environmental Centre IFPA can do the following calculations: Dispersion calculations, environmental contamination calculations (air, water, waste) using applicable methodologies currently in force; Environmental impact payment calculations, including: Fee for use of natural resources (land, water, forest, biotic); Fee for contamination of environment (emission, discharge, waste disposal); Cost of land reclamation and/or other site restoration activities; Environmental damages (including fishery damages) and evaluation of environmental risks.

GIS Technologies

The key tasks of the GIS team include: Collecting graphic and factographic data and carrying out the associated acceptance procedure; Quality control and entry in database; Explaining the work methods to the coworkers and arranging data entry on location; Perfecting and updating the termbase, developing the classifiers and regulatory directories; Quick transformation and calculation of data using the flexible tool of SQL queries for rapid decision-making; Undelayed facilitation of data in tabular or GIS forms at client’s, partners’ or experts’ requests; Creating and printing cartographic supplements to a report; Detailing and updating the map base; Perfecting the different forms of visualizing information, such as maps, legends, color patterns, ultra-frame trimming; exploring new forms; Developing data calculation techniques and algorithms; Upgrading the mapping and calculation software.

Environmental Consulting

Ecocentre  has  an  extensive  environmental  consulting experience. Whether by word of mouth or in writing   in the form of memos, summaries, explanatory   notes, analytical   reports   or   answers   to questions given we consult on any of the following subjects: General issues of environmental management and legislation in Russia; General   approval   principles  and   procedures   for  deliverables prepared at different stages of project development; The requirements and procedure of the State Environmental Expert Review; Procedures to follow in obtaining permits and licenses both at the federal or regional levels of the state government system; Industry-wide   regulatory   requirements   for   use   of   natural resources, environmental  quality  assurance, occupational  health and safety issues; Methodological framework for the development of an EIA or an EPB; Issues of compliance of the project practices of Russian and foreign operators with the EIA  procedure, the environmental expert review procedure and the agreed conditions of natural  resources usage; Preparation of environmental or related documents for project stakeholder engagement processes, public hearings, etc.; The current environmental and health status in the different regions of Russia; Other HSE matters.

Environmental Site Assessment

SPC Environmental Centre IFPA has been engaged in environmental due diligence/audit work, whether on its own or in collaboration with foreign partners, since 1994. Over this period we have done environmental audits of sites, facilities, plants and other types of corporate users of natural resources. There are certified environmental auditors in the company staff. These people have done work on the basis of both Russian and international standards that make part of the ISO 9000 quality and ISO 14000 environmental management systems.

Environmental Survey and Monitoring

A key element in assessing the capacity of some local or regional ecosystems, coming to terms with the tolerable extent of man-induced impacts there, consists in putting through an integrated environmental study.
