The SBS range is our recommended  solution for meteorologists and hydrologist professionals. The unique design and aerodynamic shape of the SBS Tipping Bucket precipitation sensor increases measurement accuracy by capturing more rainfall than traditionally shaped cylindrical gauges.  The SBS is precision-engineered to minimise out-splash and reduce rainfall losses caused by evaporation.  The depth, diameter, and angle of the funnel have all been extensively tested and researched to give the optimum accuracy in the field.  Available in White or Green.

The unique aerodynamic profile of the ARG314 tipping bucket rain gauge increases measurement accuracy by capturing more rainfall than traditionally shaped cylindrical gauges.  The shape is based on the extremely successful SBS aluminium rain gauge, also manufactured by EML.  The difference between the two gauges is that the ARG314 takes advantage of improvements in injection moulding techniques, and is therefore manufactured in a highly robust UV-stabilised plastic, which reduces the cost to the user.  The ARG314 is precision-engineered to minimise out-splash and reduce rainfall losses caused by evaporation.  The depth, diameter and angle of the funnel have all been extensively tested and research to give optimum accuracy in the field and comply with WMO standards.

The wind speed sensor consists of a low-inertia ABS cup assem­bly for fast response mounted on a dual ballrace-supported stainless steel shaft.  The wind direction component of the sensor consists of a dynamically balanced wind vane operating a triple ballrace supported shaft and micro-torque potentiometer.  The WSD1 produces a contact-closure pulse signal output, which means that most modern data capture units are compatible with these sensors with little or no interfacing.  The benefit of this is precise and accurate measurements in all environments.

The wind speed sensor consists of a low-inertia ABS cup assem­bly for fast response mounted on a dual ballrace-supported stainless steel shaft. The use of a magnet operating a long-life reed switch produces one bounce-free pulse per revolution of the rotor. The wind speed sensor is manufactured in clear anodised (HT30) aluminium alloy. Therefore, it is a cost effective and robust option for use in harsh climates.

The EML sensor shield range is constructed with the highly important louvre design to eliminate penetration of solar radiation and rainfall that can drastically effect temperature and humidity readings.  The shields can be supplied complete with mounting bracket and clamps, and will fit to vertical or horizontal masts up to 50mm (2") in diameter. All sensor shields use clamp style mounting and are suitable for use with a wide variety of measurement probes. The SS Range is expertly designed to protect against direct solar radiation & precipitation.
