After moving to the US in 1988 he worked as an environmental consultant for several years. He obtained a Master`s degree in Management from Fitchburg State College, Fitchburg, Massachusetts in 1992 and a Second Master`s degree in Earth Sciences from the University of Waterloo, ON, Canada in 1995.
