ERG Hygrade - Tanks and Vessels
ERG Hygrade specialises in the manufacture of corrosion-resistant plastic tanks, vessels and associated fabrications, produced in high-integrity thermoplastics and GRP. Our fabrication teams build chemical storage tanks, BS EN 13121-3 compliant pressure vessels, reactor vessels, glove boxes and dissolving tanks for use across a wide range of industrial applications. Each item is produced to suit the defined duty, selected materials and applicable design standards. Design and fabrication decisions are driven by operating conditions, including chemical exposure, temperature and structural loading, ensuring the finished equipment performs reliably in service.
Hygrade - Packed Tower Scrubbers
Hygrade’s packed tower scrubbers are built to the counter-flow principle, cleaning soluble and noxious gases with a scrubbing liquor as they pass through inert media. The gas or air stream travels up the tower, meeting downward flowing scrubber liquid. Gas absorption comes either through physical contact and the dissolution of gas in water, or by the chemical reaction between gas and scrubbing reagent.
ERG Hygrade - Vessels for Bio-Trickling & Bio Filters
ERG Hygrade fabricates GRP vessels, housings and internal structures for use in bio-trickling filters and biofilter systems treating hydrogen sulphide (H₂S) and odorous air streams in wastewater and industrial applications.
Hygrade - Venturi Scrubber
Venturi scrubbers rely on the creation of high-impact turbulence, ensuring close contact between gas and scrubbing liquid. This is achieved by boosting gas through a restricted area or ‘throat’, with liquid injected at the throat to generate the high turbulence zone. Available with both fixed and variable throats, the efficiency of Venturi scrubbers is a direct result of the effective function of this throat area and liquid rate.
Hygrade - Carbon Filters
Hygrade supplies carbon filters as a stand-alone single stage unit, or as a polishing stage downstream of chemical scrubbers or bio-filters. Available with an extensive range of carbon media, the filters suit many applications, including volatile organic compounds (VOCs) or acid gases, such as hydrogen sulphide, mercaptans and chlorine. A range of designs created in-house is available; including deep bed, twin bed and annular bed, depending on gas flow and inlet contaminant load.

ERG Hygrade - Carbon Filter Vessels
ERG Hygrade designs and fabricates carbon filter vessels for the adsorption of odorous, hazardous and volatile organic compounds (VOCs) from industrial air streams. Units are supplied as standalone carbon vessels or as polishing stages downstream of scrubbers or biofiltration systems.
Hygrade - Bio-Trickling & Bio Filters
Hygrade bio-filters, bio-scrubbers and bio-trickling filters are mainly used for the removal of hydrogen sulphide, general odour control in sewage treatment and other waste handling applications. They are available with a range of media, including inert pumice (lava rock) woodchip and structured plastic packing, specially selected to suit individual use.

Our in-house metal fabrication unit enables the manufacture of specialist structural supports, access ladders and any other steelwork items, working closely with clients to develop bespoke solutions.
