E.S. Babcock & Sons Laboratories (ESB) services

ESB laboratory services provide for the analysis of solid waste, oils, sludges and hazardous materials. Tests performed include waste characterizations, such as pH, flash point, cyanide, and sulfide bearing wastes. A wide variety of inorganic and organic determinations are also available following SW-846 methods, in addition to: Toxicity Characteristic Leachate Procedure (TCLP)/ZHE, CA Waste Extraction Test (WET), Corrosivity,  Reactivity, Ignitability.

ESB has been certified for drinking water testing by the State of California since 1928. Today we offer a full range of inorganic, organic and microbiological testing for potable waters. Many of our drinking water clients include local water purveyors, municipalities, and state and federal agencies.

ESB provides both sampling and testing services to assist clients in complying with municipal water discharge permit requirements for Industrial Pretreatment Programs and with National Pollution Discharge and Elimination System (NPDES) permits issued by the California Regional Water Quality Control Board, including Septic Tank Monitoring. Many of our current clients operate wastewater treatment plants and require daily monitoring. We provide same day service for process control samples and quick turn-around time for compliance monitoring. We can provide information and pricing for these, and many other services.

For groundwater, ESB provides monitoring for many of today’s high profile contaminants of concern including low level perchlorate analysis, volatile organic compounds, semi-volatile organic compounds, pesticides, PCBs, 1,4-Dioxane and NDMA.
