Flame Detectors
ESP Safety - Fire Flame Detector
The multi-spectral infrared technology of ESP Safety’s IPES-IR3 Flame Detector provides the highest sensitivity in detecting flames within a wide field of view. IPES-IR3’s advanced detection algorithm ensures rapid flame recognition while virtually eliminating false alarms. Alarms are sent only when ratios between three different IR wavelengths confirm that a flame is present in the field of view. IPES IR3 ignores false triggers from sources such as direct or indirect sunlight, arc welder flash, resistive heaters, fluorescent, halogen, and incandescent lights.
IPES - Flame Detector
ESP Safety’s Model IPES-IR/UV Flame Detector provides superior sensitivity for fires from oil and petrochemical products. It is also indicated for a wide range of other fire types including metal fires. IPES-IR/UV’s advanced detection technology includes optical filters configured for maximum sensitivity to radiation produced by flame or fire and ensures rapid flame recognition and alarm signaling. Upon fire recognition within its 90-degree field of view, the IPES-IR/UV signals a change in state from normal operation to fire in any OEM or proprietary alarm and response system.
IPES - Flame Detector
ESP Safety’s Model IPES-UV Flame Detector is optimally suited for use in detecting fires of metal and pyrophoric materials. It is also ideally suited for areas where modulated infrared radiation may be present, such as hot spots on rotating electrical equipment. IPES-UV’s advanced detection technology ensures rapid flame recognition and alarm signaling. The device is configured for sensitivity in the UV range of 180 to 250 nanometers, making the sensor “blind” to sunlight and radiation from heated objects but still able to “see” the UV radiation emitted by a flame. On detection, it transfers alarm signals to receiving control devices in control and operations rooms and to fire alarms and burglar/fire alarm systems.
Gas Detectors
TGAES - Open Path Combustible Gas Detector
ESP Safety`s TGAES Gas Detector is an open path infrared gas detection system that provides continuous monitoring of combustible hydrocarbon gas concentrations at a distance of 5 to 200 meters. Standard system outputs include an electrically isolated/non-isolated 4-20 mA DC current output, with HART and RS-485 MODBUS communication. Alarm and fault relays are available as an option. ESP`s TGAES Gas Detector delivers superior open path combustible gas detection for protection of oil/gas and other industrial facilities. The Gas Detection system is especially useful for perimeter monitoring and applications where combustible gas/vapor leaks can happen over a widely dispersed area.
Combustible Gas Detector
ESP Safety’s SGOES Gas Detector monitors concentration of hydrocarbon gases in the environment. The SGOES is con?gured to report alarms when the gas concentrations in the environment reach each of three independently programmable levels, expressed as a percentage of the lower explosive limit (LEL) in the air. As determined by application requirements, the SGOES is factory calibrated with one of eight hydrocarbon-based gases (typically methane or propane). Conversion factors are used to correct for gases other than the factory calibration gas. The optical (IR) Sensor is not dependent on the presence of oxygen in a mixture of gases and therefore can function effectively in environments where the other sensor technologies cannot.
Toxic Gas Detector
ESP Safety’s SSS-903 Toxic Gas Detector is designed to safely detect and monitor a variety of toxic gases in the air, including hydrogen sulfide, carbon monoxide, chlorine, nitric oxide, and sulfur dioxide, over a range of 0-100 ppm. By connecting the sensor to the transmitter, the SSS-903 is programmed to automatically recognize a sensor’s gas type and gas concentration required for calibration. This eliminates the need of operator programming in replacing a sensor or changing gas types.
Controllers
Multi-Channel Gas Sensors and Flame Detectors Controller
ESP Safety’s UPES Multi-Channel Controller offers maximum flexibility to users as a standalone, independent control system that can also be interfaced to a PLC or DCS system. This advanced microprocessor-based monitoring system is compatible with all flame-detection and gas-sensor products offered by ESP Safety. Utilizing the analog outputs, 16 of ESP Safety`s detectors and sensors can operate in any combination. Utilizing the digital outputs, 480 of ESP Safety`s detectors and sensors can operate in any combination. The UPES can be used at any facility for monitoring and detecting gas concentrations and flame and fire conditions. After being programmed with the desired thresholds, the UPES system will transmit light (LED) and sound alarms as well as signals to responding devices, such as warning systems, automatic sprinkler systems, ventilation systems, and emergency shutdown controls.
