ETG - Piezometric Hydrometric Level

What is and what is used for: The pressure exercised by a liquid is proportionate to its height, and in this way it is possible to determine its level by measuring the pressure. The resistance and compatibility with the fluids of the various components, type of material the instrument case, seals and electrical cable are made of are essential in this application.

ETG - Laser Flood Gate Opening Degree

The PPS-L sensor was introduced in ETG’s proposals to solve problems relating to their PPS mechanical cousins Like in every system subjected to mechanical friction and wear and tear, the wire level measurement systems are subjected to deterioration. More specifically, this deterioration is tied to the steel wire and to the recovery mechanism, which therefore require periodic maintenance. ETG proposes the most modern, practical and highest performance laser distance sensors. As regards the measurement principle, the laser sensor will be pointed in the direction of a stainless steel plate welded to the flood gate.

Automation and Remote Control

ETG - Flow Rate in Pipelines

The ETG Clamp On is a device that measures the water flow rate in a pipeline based on the principle of the difference of transit time of an ultrasonic pulse. An acoustic (ultrasonic) signal is transmitted in both directions by one sensor to the other. The propagation velocity of the acoustic waves in the flow direction is greater than that in the opposite direction and, as a result, a difference in transit time proportionate to the flow velocity is calculated.

ETG - Pluviometric Rain Sensor

The R102 pluviometric sensor measures the precipitation collected by a circular orifice (funnel-shaped) calibrated 1000 cm², supplying a signal for every one-fifth millimetre of fallen water (20 g). The sensitive element is made up of a pair of swinging tanks; the central oscillation pin consists of two stainless steel knives resting on a Teflon support.

Data Acquisition

ETG - Real-Time Monitoring Datalogger Control Unit

What is and what is used for Designed to meet all real-time monitoring requirements, it was built to interface with all existing weather instruments. Equipped with built-in GSM/GPRS card and memory card, it downloads data locally or sends them to an IP address for downloading via web.

Hydrology

ETG - Snow Level Ultrasonic Sensor

The sensor measures the height of the snow by taking a measurement of the distance of the snow from the sensor case and then subtracts the value found from the zero value place at the level of the base on which the snow deposits. The sensor, managed by a microprocessor control unit, supplies a digital signal lasting a time proportionate to the distance measured in output and is immediately interfaceable with the corresponding datalogger input channel. Heating resistors prevent ice from forming on the reference rod and on the sensor case.

Meteorology

ETG - Air Temperature and Humidity Sensor

The air humidity sensor consists of a membrane of hygroscopic material that forms the dielectric of a capacitor so that the water molecules in the air are absorbed by the dielectric, thus causing a change in the capacitor’s capacity, due to the humidity, to which a change in the oscillation frequency of an electrical circuit connected to a sensor corresponds, which in turn transforms it into a change in direct voltage. The probe produces a signal/noise ratio.

Sensors

ETG - Multi Parameter Probe

WQ0X is ready for the assembly of up to 12 sensors, used to measure quality parameters in surface and underground waters.

Road Safety

ETG - Wind Direction

The axis of the weather vane moves on a set of ball bearings and is equipped with a magnet on one of the two ends. The relative angle of the weather vane is scanned by a contactless angular magnet sensor that returns a voltage depending on the relative position between magnet and sensor. From here a microcontroller calculates the direction of the wind, linearising the ratio between angle and output current.

Water Quality

ETG - Radar Hydrometric Level Sensor

The instrument uses radar technology to measure the hydrometric level of the waterway, taking a measurement of the distance of the water surface from the sensor case and then subtracting the value found from the hydrometric zero value.
