3D Scanning Technology

3D Articulated Arm Scanning Technology

When scanning your products, we will select the right technology that delivers the accuracy, speed and resolution you need for your application. We also consider the size, color and reflectivity of the object. Portable measuring arms allow you measure on the machine or shop floor. They feature no homing procedures, simplicity of operation and reliable 3D measurements. Articulated arms can be equipped with different length probes and scan heads to measure even difficult-to-access points either optically or by touch. Romer is well known for their scan arm selection ranging from the Absolute Arm to the portable Infinite Scan Shark. If you’re looking for a portable coordinate measuring machine system (CMMS), then a Romer Arm has 3D scanning equipment and software for your application.

Long Range Scanner

Long range scanner and PCMM technologies give you the unrivaled ability to measure large or distant objects quickly and accurately.

3D Laser Scanners

The most widely used scanning technology used by our team and the industry is 3D laser scanning. A laser line emitted is being watched by a camera at an angle to generate 3D data. Usually a device tracks the location of the 3D Laser Scanner in space and can even be operated within the processing software. Most of the system is self-adjusting so it can be operated with very little training.

Dynamic Measuring Machines (DMM)

Through the use of Dynamic Measuring Machines (DMMs) we can capture the fast, complex motion of many objects over large volumes with exceptional precision. Our DMMs are equally capable of measuring both the fine subtlety of small movements and the gross dynamic behavior of large motions with exceptional resolution and range.

Laser Tracking Technology

Another portable CMM technology that can measure extremely large volumes very accurately.  A laser beam is emitted and tracked by a measuring sphere and in the case of Leica a hidden probe tool called the T-probe is used giving the system complete flexibility when line of site is an issue.

Hexagon Metrology - Hexagon (Romer) Absolute Arm
