The application of well-designed construction QA regimes has improved the defect rate for installed liner systems considerably over recent years. In non-critical geomembrane applications, this level of performance is acceptable and allowed for in the system design. For critical geomembrane system designs, a higher level of integrity can be necessary and can be provided by including electric leak detection and location techniques. Additionally, in the event that a liner breach is suspected, electrical leak location techniques are able to accurately locate the breach for examination and rectification.
