The Factair BA200E is a single phase electrically powered, breathing-air compressor designed to operate from a safe area providing air to those working in hazardous environments. The BA200E incorporates a rotary vane compressor powered by a single phase electric motor c/w a DOL starter. The compressed air generated is passed through a fan assisted aftercooler before proceeding through a multi-stage filtration system which removes particulates, reduces oil contamination to <0.003 parts per million and also removes hydrocarbon vapours.

The Factair BA450E and BA550E are electrically powered, breathing-air compressors designed to operate from a safe area providing air to those working in hazardous environments. The BA450E has a fully integrated automatic fail-safe emergency air reserve and alarm system. In the event a drop in the primary air pressure an audible alarm will be activated and the air will continue be supplied from two 9-litre 200 bar cylinders (optional 300 bar also available). The control panel has a status indicator which in the event of a failure of the primary air will automatically change from green to red. If the air pressure in the HP cylinders drops below 140 bar this will also activate the alarm and status indicator on the control panel.

Factair’s Safe-Air Cabinets provide high quality breathing-air by filtration from a normal compressed-air supply. Designed to be fitted to standard factory air lines or mobile compressors with aftercoolers the filtration system removes liquid and solid particulate down to a size of 0.01 micron and then oil vapour and odour down to 0.003 p.p.m (exceeding the criteria laid down in BS EN 12021). Mounted in durable, impact resistant polyethylene housings the Safe-Air Cabinets can be used in the most hazardous and hard working environments and are available in wall mounted or portable free standing options.

The SAT450HD and SAT950HD are breathing-air purification systems for those working in areas where there is a risk of higher than normal levels of carbon monoxide or carbon dioxide being ingested into the compressed-air system. They also ideal for use in the outside environment, where the conditions of usage are not known and in accordance with EN12021, the pressure dewpoint should not exceed -11°C. Both units incorporate compressed-air filtration and drying systems which deliver a smooth, controlled, uninterrupted supply of breathing quality air far exceeding the requirements of EN12021 and a range of international standards. Built to last the units are mounted within a tough polyethylene housing. With virtually no ferrous components the unit incorporates stainless and aluminium components making it suitable to be used in tough and arduous environments. The stainless steel wheeled frame allows the unit to be easily manoeuvred into position.

The F2025B is designed to allow users wearing airline supplied breathing-air masks to work at an extended distance from their breathing-air source. The unit allows a single larger diameter BA hose to be deployed from the supply source to the F2025B at the remote location. Users can then connect their individual supply hoses to the F2025B. Mounted within a PELI wheeled case, the F2025B incorporates a low pressure warning indicator and alarm which automatically detects whether there is a drop in the supply pressure and consequently a potential failure in the primary air supply. This then warns users to exit to a place of safety.

Factair’s offers breathing-air flow distribution cabinets panels which can condition the supply temperature either chilling or raising its temperature. Thereby reducing heat stress for users in high flow air fed suits or elevating the temperature for those working in cold conditions. Built on the proven F2121 Mk2 panel, there are 2 unit options available: F2274 incorporates a chiller to reduce the breathing-air output temperature down to a minimum 8°C. F2269 incorporates both an air chiller and powerful heaters too. This provides the option to either reduce breathing-air output temperatures, or raising individual outlets temperature, with a range of 8 to 50⁰C.

Factair's TrailAir range of long durtion cylinder sets provide a hugely mobile source of breathing-air and are ideally suited to applications where the use of a mobile breathing-air compressor would be inappropriate. As standard each unit is road towable and fitted with a penumatic alarm system, to warn when the pressure drops below a pre-set level, together with an autochangeover system to a failsafe emergency backup cylinder supply. Connections on the control panel allow in situ recharging of the cylinders. Units can be provided in a variety of cylinder configurations depending on the amount of capacity required; additional options include hose reels and storage facilities for airlines and masks. The 9A Fibrevane is an innovative compressor specially designed to deliver clean dry air for installation of optical fibre in conjunction with the 4A/4B and FIG Blowing Heads. The 9A has a portable, petrol engine driven rotary vane compressor, producing 70 l/min of pulse free treated compressed air at a working pressure of 10 bar. An extremely reliable Honda GX H 50 petrol engine provides power for this compressor.

The Factair BF80E 230V single phase electric fibre blowing compressor has been specially designed to deliver clean dry air for installation of optical fibre in conjunction with either the BT 4A/4B or FIG Blowing Head Systems. Mounted in mobile trolley format the unit incorporates an oil free reciprocating compressor with aftercooler, reducing compressed air temperature to within 5°C of ambient and a 2-stage filtration system. The unit will produce 80 l/min at 10 bar and its portability makes it an ideal source of air for internal building optical fibre installations with a noise level of only 63 dB(A) at 1 metre.

The F6100 Safe Air Monitor is the ideal instrument for those requiring continuous monitoring of their breathing-air supply. Supplied with a wall mounting kit, connection hose and coupling the F6100 is designed to be connected via a T fitting to the breathing-air supply. Once set up the instrument will continue to monitor and data log the air quality at user defined intervals validating the air quality against a range of alternative international standards. In the UK this ensures complete compliance with the relevant requirements of COSHH.
