Sensors
FSI - Model PLUS - Current, Wave, and Tide Instruments
Members of the PLUS Family come complete with FSI’s Windows-based ACMProPLUS software for system configuration and data download, as well as our ACMPost or WavePost software for graphics display and advanced post-processing. These devices may also be equipped with an optional integrated CTD module, and can optionally be configured to log up to two analog inputs from external sensors (e.g., DO, OBS, Fluorometer, Transmissometer).
FSI - Model ACM-PLUS - Selectable 2 or 3 Dimensional Current Meter
The Falmouth Scientific, Inc. enhanced Acoustic Current Meter delivers extremely precise 2 or 3 dimensional velocity measurements (user selectable) in a defined free field. The ACM-PLUS uses the most accurate and stable current measurement techniques available today and is configured with standard features that are options on competitive instruments such as extended on-board data memory, fast download capability, high accuracy real-time clock, and high speed data sampling. The instrument incorporates an internal compass and tilt sensors to provide true current vector direction. The unit’s compact size and light weight make the ACM-PLUS well suited for multiple meter arrays. Windows-based software for meter setup, data collection and data visualization make the FSI ACM-PLUS very user-friendly.
FSI - Model ACM-WAVE-PLUS - Directional Wave and Current Meter
The ACM-WAVE-PLUS from Falmouth Scientific, Inc. provides wave direction, wave height, and other wave statistics by combining FSI’s enhanced ACM-PLUS acoustic current meter technology with a high- accuracy, micro-machined silicon pressure sensor.
The instrument can be deployed in a multiple-mode format to allow periodic burst sampling of wave data as well as long-term averaging.
FSI - Model ACM-PLUS-MP - Acoustic Current Meter for Moored Profilers
The Falmouth Scientific ACM-PLUS-MP Moored Profiler Acoustic Current Meter delivers extremely precise three dimensional velocity measurements. This specialized version of the ACM-PLUS Current Meter incorporates a specifically designed velocity head which is mounted separate from the electronics to make readings less sensitive to currents caused by profiler equipment movement.
FSI - Model WAVE-TIDE-PLUS - 1-Dimensional Wave and Tide Meter
The FSI WAVE-TIDE-PLUS is an economical wave and tide monitor, combining a highly stable pressure sensor and state-of-the-art electronics to achieve unprecedented levels of accuracy and stability. Sampling rate is selectable (1 to 5 Hz), which enables the user to acquire accurate point-spectra of waves. Pressure sensor output can also be integrated to obtain water level measurements unaffected by wave action. With 2 GB of on board flash data memory, the WAVE-TIDE- PLUS can retain the large amounts of data required for highly detailed wave characterization.
FSI - High-Accuracy Self-Contained Tide Monitoring System
The Falmouth Scientific, Inc. Tide Monitoring System is a complete tide monitoring system for moorings and other long-duration fixed-site deployments. The pressure module is a precision strain-gauge pressure sensor for measuring water level; barometric pressure compensation is provided by a sensor mounted in the system`s surface enclosure, which also incorporates rechargeable battery and system communications. A 20-meter cable connects the underwater and surface enclosure. Non- corroding materials are used to ensure long sensor life with minimal maintenance. An optional solar charger allows for long-term, unattended operation. Data is recorded in the system`s 256MB internal memory and can be output locally in real-time via RS-232 (optional RS-485) or reported remotely via RF (radio, cell) or satellite telemetry.
Systems
FSI - Model HMS-620 - Bubble Gun Systems
The HMS-620 Bubble GunIM systems use low-frequency acoustic signals to provide superior signal penetration vertically through coarse sand, gravel tills, and other difficult-to-penetrate sediments.
FSI - Model HMS-620 ORD - Bubble Gun Systems
The HMS-620 ORD Bubble Gun systems use low-frequency acoustic signals to provide superior signal penetration vertically through coarse sand, gravel tills, and other difficult-to-penetrate sediments.
FSI - Model HMS-620 LF - Portable Low-Frequency Acoustic Seismic Bubble Gun System
The HMS-620LF Bubble Gun uses Low-Frequency acoustic signals to provide superior signal penetration vertically through coarse sand, gravel tills, and other difficult-to-penetrate sediments. Low power requirements and small sub-system component size make this a valuable tool for any survey platform.
FSI - Model HMS-CHS - Cable Head Source
The FSI seismic source can be used independently or synchronized with other sources during off-shore, transition zone and site surveys. These highly reliable and dependable systems have demonstrated more than 500,000 shots without maintenance. The development of HawkEye Clear Signature technology was enabled by the extremely clean and repeatable source pulse and high shot-to-shot phase and amplitude wavelet correlation of the FSI sources.
