Drilling Fluids

Aqueous Phase Activity Kit

Used to determine aqueous-phase activity of emulsified water using an electro hygrometer by the method described in API RP13-B2. The Aqueous Phase Activity Kit is used to determine aqueous-phase activity of emulsified water using an electro hygrometer by the method described in American Petroleum Institute publication API Recommended Practice RP 13B-2. The kit includes special flasks and adapters and premixed saturated salt solutions (relative humidity standards) for use in calibrating the hygrometer.

Oil Well Cement Testing Equipment

Model 141 - Mud Balance

Measuring the absolute density of a fluid sample, such as cement slurry, can be measured in a fixed volume sample under pressure. Constructed of premium metals for durability, accuracy and ease of use. The TRU-WATE Model 141 Mud Balance is an instrument for measuring the absolute density of a fluid sample. With the TRU-WATE Balance, the density of a fluid sample, such as cement slurry, can be measured in a fixed volume sample under pressure. By pressurizing the sample cup the entrained air or gas can be decreased to a negligible volume, thus providing a slurry density measurement more closely in agreement with the true density which will be realized under down-hole conditions.

Model C1001 - Wettability Tester

Evaluation of spacers/pre-flushes that water-wet surfaces where cement needs to bond; exposed to non-aqueous fluids, oil and synthetic-based drilling fluids. The Model C1001 Wettability Tester is designed for evaluation of spacers and/or pre-flushes that water-wet surfaces where cement needs to bond; where the surfaces are exposed to non-aqueous fluids, specifically oil and synthetic-based drilling fluids. Both the apparent wettability of various mud/spacer interface volumes and the apparent wettability of just the spacer system against oil-wetted surfaces can be evaluated. This instrument consists of a double-walled stainless steel mixing jar, a blender base, and an electronics control unit. A harness connection provides power to the heater, the thermocouple, and the electrodes. The jar can be used on most commercial blender bases. The accompanying electronics control unit contains the temperature controller and wettability electronics.

Viscosity - Viscometer and Rheometers

Model 35 - Rotational Viscometer

The test fluid is contained in the annular space or shear gap between the cylinders. Rotation of the outer cylinder at known velocities is accomplished through precision gearing. The viscous drag exerted by the fluid creates a torque on the inner cylinder or bob. This torque is transmitted to a precision spring where its deflection is measured and then related to the test conditions and instrument constants. This system permits the true simulation of most significant flow process conditions encountered in industrial processing. Direct Indicating Viscometers combine accuracy with simplicity of design, and are recommended for evaluating materials that are Bingham plastics. Model 35 Viscometers are equipped with factory installed R1 Rotor Sleeve, B1 Bob, F1 Torsion Spring, and a stainless steel sample cup for testing according to American Petroleum Institute Specification RP 13B.
