Carbon Pipe and Tube

Model ASTM A106 - Seamless Steel Pipe

ASTM A106 pipe (also covered in ASME specifications as S/A 106) is the standard specification for seamless carbon steel pipe for high-temperature service. Most common uses are in refineries and plants when gasses or fluids are transported at high temperatures and pressures.  Federal Steel Supply is a world leader in the supply of A106 / SA 106 pipe and stocks a full range of grades B/C in a size rage of NPS 1/8″ to NPS 48″, with nominal (average) wall thickness as given in ANSI B36.10. Pipe having other dimensions may be furnished provided such pipe complies with all other requirements of this specification*.  Pipe ordered under this specification shall be suitable for bending, for flanging, for welding, and for similar forming operations. A full range of A106 stock is available in Schedules 10 through 160, STD, XS, XXS. Unscheduled wall thicknesses available up to 4 inches. Federal Steel Supply stocks a full range of A106 seamless carbon steel pipe.

Model ASTM A53 - Steel Pipe

Standard Specification for Pipe, Steel, Black and Hot-Dipped, Zinc-Coated, Welded and Seamless. ASTM A53 (ASME SA53) carbon steel pipe is a specification that covers seamless and welded black and hot-dipped galvanized steel pipe in NPS 1/8″ to NPS 26.  A 53 is intended for pressure and mechanical applications and is also acceptable for ordinary uses in steam, water, gas, and air lines. A53 pipe comes in three types (F, E, S) and two grades (A, B). A53 Type F is manufactured with a furnace butt weld or may have a continuous weld (Grade A only). A53 Type E has an electric resistance weld (Grades A and B). A53 Type S is a seamless pipe and found in Grades A and B). A53 Grade B Seamless is our most polar product under this specification and A53 pipe is commonly dual certified to A106 B Seamless pipe.

Model ASTM A333 - Low Temperature Steel Pipe

ASTM A333 (ASME S/A-333) Pipe grades permit low temperature service. This specification covers nominal (average) walled pipe almost exclusively in seamless.  Several grades of ferritic steel are included. Some product sizes may not be available under this specification because heavier wall thicknesses have an adverse effect on low-temperature impact properties. A333 pipe is furnished to nine different grades designated by numbers 1, 3, 4, 6, 7, 8, 9, 10, & 11.  Discussed herein are Grades 1 and 6.

Model API 5L - Seamless Line Pipe

The American Petroleum Institute specification API 5L covers seamless and welded steel line pipe.  This is steel pipe for pipeline transportation systems in the petroleum and natural gas industries.  API 5L is suitable for conveying gas, water, and oil.  Size range is limited only by manufacturer’s capabilities. Specifications for API 5L adhere to the International Organization for Standardization ISO 3183, which standardizes pipeline transportation systems within the materials, equipment and offshore structures for petroleum, petrochemical, and natural gas industries.  The technical committee authoring the standards recognized that there are two basic Product Specifications Levels (PSL) of technical requirements and therefore developed PSL 1 and PSL 2.  PSL 1 is a standard quality for line pipe where PSL 2 contains additional chemical, mechanical properties, and testing requirements.

Alloy Pipe and Tube

Model ASTM A335 - Chrome-Moly Seamless Pipe

ASTM A335 Pipe (ASME S/A335, Chorme-Moly) is a seamless ferritic Alloy-Steel Pipe for high temperature service. Pipe ordered to this specification shall be suitable for bending, flanging (vanstoning), and similar forming operations, and for fusion welding.  Sometimes referred to as “P Grade”, chome moly pipe is popular in P-Grades P5, P9, P11, P22, and P91.  The most common use of grades P11, P22, and P91 is in the power industry and petro-chemical plants,  Grades P5 and P9 are commonly used  in refineries.
