Figaro - Model TGS816 - Combustible Gas Sensor

The sensing element of Figaro gas sensors is a tin dioxide (SnO2) semiconductorwhich has low conductivity in clean air.  In the presence of a detectable gas,the sensor`s conductivity increases depending on the gas concentration inthe air.  A simple electrical circuit can convert the change in conductivity toan output signal which corresponds to the gas concentration.The TGS 816 is not only sensitive to a wide range of gases, it also has a ceramicbase which can withstand severe environments up to 200°C.  Ithas highsensitivity to methane, propane, and butane, making it ideal for natural gasand LPG monitoring.  The sensor can detect a wide range of gases, makingit an excellent, low cost sensor for a variety of applications.

The sensing element of TGS826 is a metal oxide semiconductor which has low conductivity in clean air.  In the presence of a detectable gas, the sensor`s conductivity increases depending on the gas concentration in the air.  A simple electrical circuit can convert the change in conductivity to an output signal which corresponds to the gas concentration.TheTGS826has high sensitivity to ammonia gas.  The sensor can detect concen-trations as low as 30ppm in the air and is ideally suited to critical safety-related applications such as the detection of ammonia leaks in refrigeration systems and ammonia detection in the agricultural field.
