As the automotive landscape evolves, Filtran offers specialized solutions to manage new challenges in system cleanliness – a result of the emergence of electric and hybrid drivetrains. It has been estimated that as many as 20% of new cars sold in 2025, will be a form of electric vehicle. New drivetrain systems require unique filtration solutions to maintain clean fluid and we understand how to meet those requirements. We design high performance filtration systems that reduce pumping losses and result in lower power consumption of the electric pump at hot and cold temperatures. Lower pumping losses lead to lower energy usage and power draw which improves the range of the battery. A reduction in short and long term component wear improves the life of the system, reduces warranty claims, and improves NVH by reducing bearing wear.

The E-axle provides an all-in-one powertrain solution in electric and hybrid vehicles. Filtran delivers filtration solutions to meet the required system cleanliness regulations while utilizing, a small packaging space. Increasingly common in electric vehicles, the e-axle is a unique way to package three powertrain components together. The motor, electronics, and transmission are combined into a single unit. This special packaging allows for a singular cooling system to be used for all three components. We also offer integrated filtration components that provide increased system cleanliness, in a small space which helps to maintain the advantage of using an e-axle. Our expertise with various synthetic materials allows us to develop a robust solution while taking into account considerations for weight reduction.

Our Surface filtration materials have a variety of meshes with distinct characteristics that allow low differential pressures with clearly defined high-filtration performances. Filtran’s Depth filtration materials, including V-Pore, SPFM, MFT, have characteristics that permit low differential pressures with appropriate filtration performances and capacities.

We provide our depth filtration materials with different efficiency classes for a wide range of needs. Every filter media is made with both temperature-resistant and oil-resistant substances, such as metal, glass and various synthetic fibers.

Filtran’s innovative technology is incorporated into every plastic oil pan with an integrated filter system. Our objective in designing an oil pan from plastic, in addition to the considerable weight reduction, is the ability to integrate multiple components and functions. The high tech system utilizes a minimal amount of installation space.
