Tantalum

Firmetal - Tantalum Rod & Bar

To make a rod & bar first we need to forge or extrude the material to suitable size. The representative sections’ yield is 70%~90%. Then we anneal the material. Forging, rolling, extruding and drawing are usually used during reprocessing. The wire need to be forged by regular wire drawing machine.

Firmetal - Tantalum Foil & Strip

Electron beam melting tantalum ingot - at room temperature (400 °C or less) forging breakdown - annealing - roughing - annealing - strip rolling - annealing - foil rolling - heat treatment. Cold rolling is usually applied, the total machining rate is 80% to 90% of the thickness of the slab, and the total processing rate is 6% to 8% of the plate thickness. In order to ensure the surface quality of rolled sheet, it is required to have no defect, pollution and roll surface.
