First Sensor - Pin and Avalanche Photodiodes

We offer photodiodes in a range of technologies featuring high sensitivity, high speed, and low dark current which can be adapted to your specific requirements. Our sensors are optimized for applications where precise optical measurements are required, such as laser range finders, LIDAR systems, medical equipment, and high speed optical communications or photometry.

Optical and Radiation Sensors

Optical Sensors

First Sensor develops and manufactures high-precision optical and opto-electronic sensor solutions from a single source and provides long term supply continuity. Available as component, module or system solution First Sensor products are an integrated part of our customers application. The closed First Sensor process chain encompasses everything from design to manufacture and integrates all essential key components. The company offers a complete solution ranging from component development and production in cleanrooms of the semiconductor plant to the packaging of integrated circuits and opto-electronic hybrid integration as well as full system development. Thus maximizing the reliability and durability of your developments.

Model X - Radiation Sensors

Alpha, beta, gamma, and X-ray radiation can be detected with silicon PIN photodiodes either directly via the absorption in the crystal lattice or indirectly via the measurement of the luminescence radiation of a scintillation crystal. The Series X from First Sensor features optimized silicon PIN photodiodes, which form wide, fully depleted space-charge regions even at low reverse voltages in order to guarantee the maximum absorption of radiation. For high-energy radiation we offer detectors with a CsI:TI scintillation crystal.

Pressure Sensors

Standard Line - Model STARe - Pressure Sensor Elements

Our optimized STARe technology enables silicon based piezoresistive pressure measurement with highest accuracy and stability. The Standard Line STARe offers absolute, gage and differential pressure ranges from 1 to 30 bar. The arrangement of the bond pads allow for flexible wire bonding.

Model STARe - Industrial Line Pressure Sensor Elements

Our optimized STARe technology enables silicon based piezoresistive pressure measurement with highest accuracy and stability. The Industrial Line STARe offers absolute, gage and differential pressure ranges from 100 mbar to 600 bar. The arrangement of the bond pads allow for flexible wire bonding.

Level Sensors

Model CTE / CTU / CTW9000...CS - Submersible Hydrostatic Liquid Level Sensors

The CTE / CTU / CTW9000...CS submersible hydrostatic liquid level sensors allow for high media compatibility with many industrial liquids. The level transmitters use fully welded stainless steel pressure sensor elements without internal elastomeric seals and feature small-diameter stainless steel housings. They are calibrated and temperature compensated and offer amplified analogue output signals. All CTE / CTU / CTW9000...CS liquid level sensors can be modified according to customer specific requirements. Typical applications include level measurement and level control of tanks and liquid supplies as well as water level measurement in reservoirs and wells.

Flow Sensors

Model WBI - Mass Flow Sensors

The WBI sensors with I²C bus interface offer mass flow measurement for air and gases based on a highly sensitive thermal measuring principle. The WBI series includes unidirectional as well as bidirectional flow ranges. The digital sensors achieve a very high accuracy over the complete measuring range in the positive as well as negative flow direction and feature fast response times and low power consumption. Typical applications include medical devices, HVAC, instrumentation as well as analytical instruments.

Model WBA - Mass Flow Sensors

The WBA sensors offer mass flow measurement for air and gases based on a highly sensitive thermal measuring principle. The WBA series includes unidirectional as well as bidirectional flow ranges. The sensors achieve a very high accuracy over the complete measuring range in the positive as well as negative flow direction and feature fast response times and low power consumption. Typical applications include medical devices, HVAC, instrumentation as well as analytical instruments.
