Firstgrade design and build Trommel Screens to the highest specification for trouble free operation in a tough enviroment, mounting directly over bunker walls eliminates the need for conveyors and reduces the space required. Each Trommel is custom built to suit individual requirements. For heavy material, 10mm thick replaceable punched plate screens are used. For finer screening, woven wire screens are available.

Our Zambezi uses a fast flowing flume of water to separate light from heavy materials, the unique separation system used in the Zambezi enables items which are heavier than water, (such as rubber and plastics), to be removed with the light fraction. Applications for the Zambezi include removing light contamination from recycled aggregates, and removing glass and metal from wood chips or mulch.

At Firstgrade we design and manufacture our picking stations to suit individual customers requirements, in its simplest form the picking station consists of a conveyor belt with a walkway on one or both sides. Picking cabins can be built to higher specifications and can include insulation, lighting, heating and forced air ventilation.

Firstgrade  recognise the key to efficient waste processing is a uniform fill rate, to achieve this with minimal labour and machinery, Firstgrade have designed a range of large feed hoppers, with a number of options to give a uniform, and controlled flow of material. Firstgrade hoppers can be built to the size and capacity you require.

The main application for Firstgrade’s fines refiner is to re-process fines from a typical waste screening plant. This patented system uses an oscillating screen to remove fines (less than 10mm), followed by an air suction system to remove light materials from the mid size material. The light waste can be used as a fuel (SRF), and the heavy fraction as an aggregate.

The Firstgrade 340 series use 4” return rollers, 340mm diameter lagged head drum, and are availablein almost any width and length. The 140 series are a smaller conveyor.

At Firstgrade we can provide a wide range of air separation systems to best suit each application. Air knives are used where there is a wide size range of material, suction systems are used for more precise separation where the material has already been sized.
