Flamex - Spark Detection & Extinguishing Systems
The FLAMEX Spark Detection and Extinguishing System provides a common sense, cost effective measure for the prevention of dust collector fires and explosions.
Minifog - Water Mist System for Object Protection
Many applications for fire protection are more effectively addressed by the use of water mist rather than a spray or deluge that uses greater volumes of water. Specially designed MINIFOG nozzles create a very fine droplet size (.15mm) that results in a dramatic increase of water surface. This allows the advantage of a greater and more efficient absorption of heat. Most of the small water droplets evaporate in the fire and expand their volume over 1,600 times when turned to steam. This causes a suffocating effect on the fire in addition to the cooling effect of the heat absorption. The result is rapid suppression that minimizes both fire and water damage.
Flamex - Deluge Systems
When fire begins in a Dust Collector, Bin or Silo, suppression is normally achieved by flooding or deluging the vessel with water. Prior to installing a system for this purpose, design criteria must be followed (as documented in NFPA 15) to ensure that the system responds effectively for the specific application. Such a system must be fast to respond quickly to minimize the fire and resulting damage, and must utilize a sufficient volume of water with adequate disbursement to effectively quench the fire. FLAMEX Inc. can design and supply Deluge Systems to meet the needs of a variety of applications.
Flamex - High Speed Abort Gates
An Abort Gate is a high-speed damper that contains a spring assisted blade that is usually held in place by an electromagnet. It is used to divert sparks, flames, burning material, smoke, and combustion gases out of the pneumatic system to a safe location. Abort Gates are usually activated by spark detectors mounted on the ductwork upstream of the unit. Upon detection of IR by the spark detector, the system diverts the air flow through the discharge hood of the gate. The reaction time will vary somewhat depending upon the diameter of the duct however most units will react within 1/2 second (500 milliseconds).
