Fleming & Associates - Airflow Measurement System

The purpose of the AF-36 Airflow Measurement System is to determine the aerodynamic area of various components such as gas turbine nozzles, nozzle segments, wheels, combustion liners, and other similar components. Historically the AF-36 has gone through a number of design improvements since it was introduced by August Fleming in 1972.  Today’s version is a computerized double blower system that is highly accurate, versatile and durable.  Of the more than 130 Air Flow Systems produced, more than 120 are still in service.  Fleming & Associates Calibration expects the working life span of a new AF-36 to be at least 15 years.

Fleming & Associates - Airflow Measurement System

AF16-S Airflow Measurement System is one of Fleming & Associates newest products. This redesign of older shop air machines eliminates operator errors and improves reliability. It also has a quicker measurement cycle than AF36. The purpose of the AF16-S is intended for measuring areas under 10 square inches of various components such as gas turbine nozzles, nozzle segments, wheels, combustion liners, and other similar components. The area is measured from airflow pressure differentials. This is accomplished by the AF16-S channeling air over or through the test component that leads to the determination of the airflow area for the component being inspected.

Fleming & Associates - Mass Airflow Measurement System

The AV-1 is a high-precision system for measuring mass flow of air specifically designed for the use in the gas turbine industry. It also uses shop air to produce measurements. The Instrument Cabinet is modular and compatible with the AF16. It can be effectively coupled with the AF16 to provide a wide range of test parameters. The purpose of the AV1 Mass Airflow Measurement System is to determine the total airflow of various components such as gas turbine nozzles, nozzle segments, wheels, combustion liners, and other similar components. This is measured from airflow pressure differentials, and is accomplished by the AV1 channeling air over and/or through the test component, which leads to the determination of the airflow area for the component being inspected. The AV1 has been designed, with the necessary flexibility to measure a variety of components.

Fleming & Associates - Airflow Adapters

Fleming & Associates Calibration Inc. for more than a generation produced over 200 different Airflow Adaptors and has been leading the industry in Adaptor design. Accuracy of measurements is strongly influenced by Adaptor design and manufacture. Adaptors must be used in order to mount gas turbine components (parts) onto Airflow Measurement Equipment, and channeling the air smoothly into the component being measured.  A series of easy-to-change mounting rings allows for a wide range of Adaptor diameters. A large swing-clamp on the cabinet of Airflow Measurement System simplifies the mounting of most components.
