Fluor’s goal for all projects is to produce a facility that meets the Clients’ objectives for throughput capacity and quality of product. The detailed engineering and design phase is a key step in a capital project. Fluor develops plans to ensure that the designs reflect Client requirements and facilitate construction of facilities that meet our Clients’ strategic objectives.

Fluor operates four strategically located self-perform fabrication yards around the world, as part of Fluor`s integrated modular engineering, fabrication and assembly, modular construction and asset support services. Fluor provides Clients the flexibility of offsite fabrication and the proven expertise to deliver the cost and compressed schedule benefits of modular construction for their capital projects. Self-perform fabrication yards may be adjacent to the site or at remote locations, reducing onsite craft densities and shifting work to inherently safer and more controlled work environments. Remote locations may offer cost and schedule advantages.

Commissioning is typically the responsibility of the Client; however, Fluor often provides technical support during commissioning and turnover.

Econamine FG Plus provides clients with an energy efficient and cost-effective process for the removal of CO2 from low-pressure, oxygen-containing flue gas streams. The solvent formulation is specially designed to recover CO2 from low oxygen-containing streams that are at near-atmospheric pressure, such as burner flue gas streams. The process offers a post-combustion CO2 capture option and is easy to retrofit to existing facilities. For more than 20 years, Econamine FG Plus is the preferred CO2 solution as evidenced by more than 23 licensed plants worldwide.

In the aftermath of a natural or accidental disaster, Clients are vulnerable to immediate losses. Clients may suffer damage to their facilities, infrastructure, and power, as well potential losses of manufacturing output and displaced employees.

Fluor has developed its baseline global carbon footprint, and plans to continue tracking emissions annually. To facilitate the measurement of future carbon emissions, Fluor also created an annual data collection methodology system to measure, monitor, and manage of corporate emissions.

Fluor works closely with clients, partners, and suppliers to understand how to minimize environmental impacts, including working to improve the energy efficiency of its own offices. Drawing on results from the calculation of its emissions profile, Fluor has begun to enact strategies to manage its global carbon footprint.
