Fluoropolymer Tubing

Fluorotherm - Model PTFE - Fluoropolymer Tubing

PTFE is the classic, original, and gold standard of fluoropolymer tubing. PTFE was the "miracle" fluoropolymer invented in the 1940`s by DuPont - a product originally without a market and hard to process. Most other materials continue to use PTFE as a reference for chemical resistance.

Fluorotherm - Model FEP - Fluoropolymer Tubing

The cost-effective brother of PTFE, FEP was developed as a conventionally melt-processible fluoropolymer in response to the limitations and initial difficulties in processing PTFE.

Fluorotherm - Model PFA - Fluoropolymer Tubing

Combining the best of PTFE and FEP, PFA was developed in the late 1960`s in response to a need for a resin with chemical and use temperatures closer to PTFE, yet a resin that would retain the conventional melt processability of FEP.

Fluorotherm - Model ETFE - Fluoropolymer Tubing

ETFE is a fluoropolymer that is chemically and structurally similar to polyolefins such as polyethylene, thus providing a higher abrasion, impact, and crush resistance than its fully fluorinated (perfluoropolymer) counterparts -PTFE, FEP, and PFA.

Fluorotherm - Model PVDF - Fluoropolymer Tubing

PVDF, or Polyvinylidene Fluoride Fluoropolymer, provides good abrasion and wear properties with low permeability. PVDF tubing is used in a variety of industries such as aerospace, semiconductor, medical, automotive, fiber optics and marine tanks. PVDF`s upper use temperature of 250°F is lower than PFA; however, it is the material of choice in high purity and chemical resistance applications such as critical fluid handling, pharmaceutical and air/water environmental sampling, heat transfer and where cost is more sensitive than PFA. PVDF tubing is also approved by the FDA as safe for interaction with food and water, which is why PVDF tubing is one of the more popular choices of tubing in food processing applications. PVDF tubing is also a common choice for those in need of stable tube connectors that are exposed to harsh chemicals or aggressive environments. Ultimately, PVDF tubing is a great choice for those seeking high-quality fluoropolymer tubing at a competitive price.

Model H2 - Thermally Conductive Tubing

A proprietary product, H2 Conductive Tubing is the result of a special formula of FEP and PFA resin that has around 2.7-times higher heat conductivity than PTFE, ETFE, or regular FEP or PFA.

Fluorotherm - Heat Shrink Tubing

Currently, Fluorotherm offers FEP 1.3:1 shrink ratio tubing and FEP roll covers. FEP in these sizes is among the most popular heat shrink tubing product used for snug, protective jacketing for metal or other parts that are exposed to adverse, aggressive environments such as corrosion, chemicals, moisture and impact. The wide use of FEP heat shrink tubing over PTFE or PFA is due to its lower shrink temperature than either of those materials, as well as for its ease of installation.

Fluorotherm - Striped Tubing

Striped tubing is primarily used for easy identification of lines carrying specific fluids or intended for specific purposes. The product properties as the same as the base resin in all respects.

Other Products

Fluorotherm - Fluoropolymer Rods

Fluorotherm’s current line of fluoropolymer rods consists of PCTFE structural rods. PCTFE is largely used for machined products for bearings, washers, gaskets, valve seats, gears and many other similar applications. Our fluoropolymer rods can be used in a wide range of industries that can include:

Fluorotherm - Monofilament Fiber

Monofilament fiber is used in braiding applications for general industry where weaved products are produced to provide non-stick, high temperature surfaces. Here at Fluorotherm™, we can produce PTFE monofilament fiber to meet your specific needs and they are backed by our high standards of top quality.
