Sewage and waste water cleaning facilities are excellently suitable for the use in our cogeneration heat and power plants due to the own energy and heat requirement structure. Combined heat and power generation can generate the required process heat for the decay process of the sewage sludge and the drying at essentially lower cost than through external purchasing. In turn, gas containing methane is gained through the decay process so to speak “free of charge”, almost a perpetual motion machine. The produced energy is largely used at the facility itself. Possible excesses are fed into the public power network.
