APEX EDS is EDAX’s premier software program for collecting and analyzing energy dispersive x-ray spectroscopy (EDS/EDX) data and the compositional characterization of materials. APEX ensures high-quality, accurate results and increased productivity with its easy-to-use interface, live-time graphical display, and simultaneous review mode analysis.

EDAX Spectrum Match is a powerful software program that enables a search through a custom-built spectrum library to identify and match a spectrum to similar spectra automatically. Identifying an unknown is greatly simplified when compared to a group of potential candidates, reducing the complexity of finding discrepancies and similarities between spectra.

Historically, 3D visualization software has focused on taking a stack of image slices through a sample to produce a 3D volume. Elemental maps could be displayed simultaneously by color coding according to intensity. The usual rotate, tilt, and zoom functions designed for simple images were adapted for elemental maps but provided little additional interpretative information.
