Horticulture Water Storage

Genap - Genap Water Tank

Genap’s water tank systems are renowned worldwide for being a high quality, low cost solution for the storage of large volumes of water. The modular system, with storage capacities ranging from 5 m3 to 2,000 m3, can be assembled by hand without the need for cranes or other equipment. Genap’s made to measure liners and covers complete the system. The panels are galvanized as standard. Optionally, an additional coating can be applied to both sides of the steel panels. This increases the warranty period and design life of the tank. The available liners are suitable for all types of water including drinking, dirty and recirculated water.

Genap - Anti-algae Tensioned Cover for Silo

During storage, water becomes contaminated with algae which results in irrigation systems becoming blocked and all of the consequences that entails. Genap has a number of solutions for this in its product range. These cover systems are an appropriate solution for combating algae growth, they also prevent evaporation and to a large extent they prevent contamination of the water.

Genap - Extreme Kit

Since water storage silos |are applied around the globe, materials have to be appropriate for local requirements and extreme circumstances. For this purpose Genap offers a water storage kit which combines a liner featuring chlorine and excellent UV resistance with an easy-to-install silo.

Genap Genafloat - Durable Floating Cover for Water Reservoirs

The Genafloat is a long-lasting floating cover for water reservoirs which prevents algae growth. The cover is made from Aquatex-`EX. a high-grade polyolefin foil. The cover provides a high degree of protection for the water against (sun) light and therefore prevents the growth of algae. The Genafloat also prevents wave formation and evaporation from occurring in the reservoir.

Genap - Fully Closed Water Reservoir

A closed water storage system is the best solution for preventing algae growth and contamination of the water because external influences on the quality of the water are no longer possible.

Civil Engineering & Infrastructure

Genap - Geomembrane Structures for Infrastructure - Underwater Installation

In the civil engineering infrastructure sector the access roads to underpasses, aqueducts and below ground level locations are often built using a geomembrane structure as a water barrier for the groundwater. The waterproof geomembranes for these projects have to be installed at such a level that the vertical equilibrium is guaranteed in order to prevent the structure from floating.

Genap - Geomembrane structure for infrastructure - Dry Installation

In the civil engineering infrastructure sector the access roads to underpasses, aqueducts and below ground level locations are often built using a foil structure as a water barrier for the groundwater. The waterproof geomembranes for these projects have to be installed at such a level that the vertical equilibrium is guaranteed in order to prevent the structure from floating. Installing the geomembranes below ground can be undertaken in two ways: in the wet, which is known as submerging of geomembrane structures, and installation in dry conditions (for under water installation: see the factsheet `Geomembrane Structures for Infrastructure - underwater installation).

Genap - Bottom and Cover Geomembranes for Landfill Sites

A bottom and cover geomembrane for landfill sites always involves a geomembrane that isolates the contamination in order to protect the environment or to specifically protect against potential future contamination. The seals have to be made under an installation certificate by a certified company. Genap has held this stringent KIWA certification since 1997. A 2mm HDPE foil is usually used for both seals. This is specified under the prevailing guidelines for the use of geomembrane structures to protect the environment and/or the Soil Protection (Dumping) Decree.

Genap - Bottom Seals for Tank Terminals

Bottom proteclion is used when one is working wilh hazardous substances lhat can be harmful lo the environment. In the petrochemical industry liquid-proof geomembrane structures are often fitted underneath storage tanks. Genap has installed these liquid-proof geomembrane structures for a range of national and international clients. Generally a 2mm HOPE geomembrane is used, however, the 100% oil-resistant material Genatex 1150XR is quickly gaining favour.

Genap - Geomembrane Storage Reservoirs

The storage of waste water is often undertaken in reservoirs, silos or concrete tanks. The type of geomembrane that can be used depends on the type of contamination in the water. The storage method can also require a special type of geomembrane or mean that extra protection is necessary.
