Water Storage Tanks
General Industries - Potable Water Storage Tanks
General Industries fabricates potable water tanks per AWWA D-100 and AWWA D-102. These tanks store potable water for a variety of uses from human consumption to industrial process applications. Carbon steel tanks may be epoxy coated, or we fabricate using 304L and 316L stainless steel to meet NSF requirements.
General Industries - Non-Potable Water Storage Tanks
These tanks fabricated from steel or stainless steel store non potable water from fracking operations, industrial applications and storm water runoff just to name a few sources. Non-potable water tanks are fabricated from carbon and stainless steel, and can be internally coated. Some non-potable water tanks may contain a waste stream with various components in addition to water.
General Industries - Rain Water Storage Tanks
Rain water harvesting is a growing segment of the water industry, and we fabricate carbon steel and stainless tanks for this effort. Underground harvesting tanks can be up to 75,000 gallons, and make great additions to systems managing storm water runoff from buildings and even parking lots. This water is typically used for irrigation, toilets, vehicle cleaning and other non-potable water uses with little to no additional treatment.
General Industries - Lechate Storage Tanks
Leachate tanks are usually large aboveground or underground tanks installed at landfills and waste collection sites to collect the rainwater runoff for treatment. These tanks prevent contaminated water from seeping into the ground water prior to treatment. The liners of large landfills aid in the collection of the runoff which is then piped to the leachate tank.
General Industries - Fire Suppression Tanks
General Industries fabricates fire suppression tanks per the NFPA 22 Standard for Water Tanks for Private Fire Protection. This standard dictates the design and features required to meet this standard including structural design, operational features, interior coating systems and exterior coating systems.
General Industries - Wastewater Storage Tanks
Waste water tanks can be installed in any number of commercial or industrial application processes. These tanks are designed first by understanding the waste stream, the using the carbon steel or stainless steel with the best compatibility. These tanks can be above ground or underground, and fabricated from an array of steel tank standards.
Chemical Storage Tanks
General Industries - Methanol Storage Tank
Methanol storage tanks are fabricated per recognized standards like UL 142, UL-2085 or the API-650 standard. These steel tanks are commonly found at waste water treatment plants, and the methanol or other carbon source is used in the nutrient removal process.
General Industries - Nitric Acid Storage Tank
Nitric acid tanks are another industrial and waste water application for tanks fabricated from 316L stainless steel only. Nitric acid is a very aggressive solution and storing this solution in carbon steel is not recommended.
General Industries - Sodium Hydroxide Storage Tank
Sodium hydroxide tanks are commonly installed at waste water treatment plants and are typically fabricated per the API-650 standard. The calculated steel thickness is usually increased by 1/8” to 1/4” due to the corrosive nature of sodium hydroxide after the concentrations are reduced for use. Sodium hydroxide tanks often receive post weld heat treatment due to the heat generated by the reaction when the concentrations are reduced.
Process Tanks and Mixing Vessels
General Industries - Process Tanks and Mixing Vessels
General Industries, Inc. fabricates process tanks for mixing, separating, heating or cooling. These tanks can be horizontal or vertical. Vertical tanks can be elevated with legs or skirts and have cone or dished bottoms, mixer mounting assemblies, heating and cooling systems, insulation and plumbing.
