Geo Environmental Engineering services
Topographical Survey Servies
Geo Environmental Engineering can complete 2D and 3D topographical surveys utilising the most up to date GPS technology, ensuring that our surveys are clear, concise and accurate to Ordnance Survey standard. An accurate topographical survey is highly desirable as this will detail any significant features and changes in levels that may have cost implications on the proposed development.
Measured Building Surveys Services
Geo Environmental Engineering can complete a measured building survey comprising detailed floor plans and elevations, produced in AutoCAD to any industry standard or detailed specification.
3D Building Surveys Services
Geo Environmental Engineering operate the latest technologies allowing the completion of 3D building scans utilising state of the art digital scanners allowing current site structures to be positioned over a 3D topographical survey. This can be adapted to show underground services in 3D. The quality of the imagery is outstanding and the finished project can be viewed on software provided with the information.
Buried Utility Survey (Non Intrusive Investigation) Services
Geo Environmental Engineering use the latest non-destructive technologies such as Ground Penetrating Radar (GPR) and Electromagnetic (EM) Techniques (sophisticated CAT and Genny) to accurately locate and position all detectable buried utilities such as gas, electricity, communications and water. This can be combined with a CCTV drainage condition survey and sonde networking. This accurate survey aids Health & Safety on site as it accurately plots the location, orientation and depth of buried services, ensuring that people on site are aware of any utilities prior to digging. This can obviously reduce the risk of injury or death to site operatives, but also reduce the risk of expensive diversions or terminations in the event of an accidental strike. Prior knowledge of the existence of buried services also allows for project managers and their clients to budget for any terminations or diversions prior to commencing on site.
Buried Utility Survey (Intrusive Investigation) Services
Geo Environmental Engineering undertake trial trenching utilising “soft touch” digging techniques in association with GPR and EM to expose and prove buried utilities, marking the actual location and construction of the utilities aiding assessments for potential diversions and terminations.
Geo Environmental Appraisal (GAP) Services
This is a “mini” Phase 1: Desk Top Study Report designed to provide background information for a development site (potentially pre-acquisition), allowing a level of risk to be determined in relation to the geotechnical properties of the underlying ground conditions and the potential contaminants associated with current and historical site uses. This appraisal includes a review of aerial photographs, geological plans and historical maps with details on flooding, radon and landfill.
Desk Top Study Report (DTS) Services
Geo Environmental Engineering is proficient in completing detailed Phase 1: Desk Top Study Reports, comprising a standalone document suitable for submission to Governing Bodies and Financial Institutions, with a DTS generally being required as a planning condition. The DTS includes aspects such as detailed site history, geology, mining, quarrying, radon gas, hydrogeology, hydrology, flood risk and environmental sensitivity.
Ground Investigation Report (GIR) Services
Geo Environmental Engineering specialises in designing, implementing and project managing cost effective ground investigations utilising our specialist equipment to meet all our clients’ requirements and to comply with current legislation and best practices, with the Phase 2: Ground Investigation works designed to satisfy any planning conditions that may apply. Depending upon the recommendations made within the Phase 1: Desk Top Study Report the Phase 2: Ground Investigation works may comprise of the following:Remediation Options Appraisal Services
Where a site is identified as requiring remediation to ensure suitability for the proposed end use; Geo Environmental Engineering can review contaminated land assessments to carefully consider the remediation options available. These options may comprise of traditional methods such as clean cover and delineation/removal, with considerations made to physical, chemical, biological, thermal and solidification/stabilisation technologies that are currently available to remediate contaminated soils and groundwater. This methodical approach will ensure that the contamination is dealt with in an appropriate and cost effective manner.Geo Environmental Engineering can produce a Remediation Strategy and liaise with the regulatory bodies (Local Authority, Environment Agency, NHBC, etc.) to ensure acceptance and final sign off satisfying any planning conditions that may have been applied.
