The system directly interfaces to all major side-scan manufacturers for tandem tow configurations. Being small and lightweight, it is easily deployed and operated by one person. Geometrics is proud to introduce the latest generation of land magnetometers to the geophysical market! The G-864 marries the highest quality magnetometer available today with a modern user interface, making surveying easier and more efficient for years to come. The G-864 cesium magnetometer utilizes a modified Android tablet, the Getac ZX70, as the data console. This offers users the ability to store large amounts of data as either a single or multiple projects. The Android tablet incorporates a navigational display and the ability to preload survey lines, a feature that will steer users throughout the survey area. Preloading the survey lines, instead of using traditional tape measures and stakes to create the lines in the field, reduces setup time and crew size. The G-864 lets users visualize their collected data as a color map. This allows for instant data QC and for creating new survey lines for in-fill where additional data may be needed.

Geometrics has recently announced a revolutionary new line of magnetometer products based on recent research in miniaturizing atomic clocks and magnetometers. Advances by Geometrics allow for a 10-fold reduction in size and power consumption without sacrificing performance. New devices soon to be on the market are only about 15cc in size, and require only 2W per sensor. Manufacturing technologies for an additional 10-fold reduction in size and power consumption are available now. Recent advances in laser technology and MEMS fabrication techniques, supported by the Defense Advanced Research Projects Agency (DARPA) and the Strategic Environmental Research and Development Program (SERDP) , have led to miniaturized components for atomic clocks and magnetometers.

The G-862RBS Base Station Magnetometer combines a rugged and reliable cesium sensor with a Tallysman GPS and Dog Catcher data logger making it a high-performance, complete-package magnetometer system that is perfect for any survey. The magnetometer and GPS time values are synchronized to within 1ms and the Cesium vapor technology used in the G-862RBS is stable, not requiring adjustment or periodic factory recalibration. The default configuration of the G-862RBS provides 0.02 nT P-P performance (0.004 nT/ sqrtHz rms) at 10 samples per second, where each measurement is time-tagged by the GPS data as it arrives from the Tallysman receiver.
