Geotechnical Services

Before a building, bridge, highway, subdivision, and before any other facility breaks ground, a geotechnical evaluation needs to be performed. The results of the evaluation can bring to light unique subsurface conditions and characteristics with the findings often influencing the suitability of a site for a specific project and the construction requirements needed to create a safe and structurally sound structure.

Environmental Services

In the fast-paced environment that is the region’s economic development, our team of Certified Environmental Managers, geologists and licensed professional engineers are increasingly called upon for environmental consulting.

Materials Testing Service

GES has three construction materials testing laboratories. These laboratories have state-of-the-art equipment for testing soils, concrete, masonry, asphalt and aggregates following strict quality assurance guidelines for equipment usage and calibration. GES is familiar with specifications from various agencies such as state and federal highway departments, ASTM, FAA, FHWA, AASHTO and U.S. Army Corps of Engineers. GES’ staff and laboratories are inspected by AASHTO re:source and CCRL, and then accredited by the AASHTO Accreditation Program and the respective state departments of transportation.

Laboratory Service

The laboratories at GES can perform a full range of advanced materials testing, specializing in soil, aggregate, masonry, asphalt, and concrete.  Our laboratories are accredited by the American Association of State Highway and Transportation Officials (AASHTO) Accreditation Program, inspected by AASHTO re:source and the Cement and Concrete Reference Laboratory (CCRL), and complies with internationally recognized American Society for Testing and Materials (ASTM) standards. 

Special Inspections Service

GES’ special inspections program provides valuable quality assurance/quality control benefitting all parties related to the proper installation, fabrication, and placement of specific structural components and others that require certifications, special knowledge, expertise, and attention. Benefits include improved communication between design professionals and contractors, testing companies, and jurisdictional building officials, while providing a safe structure for the public.
