Girard - Mandrel Pig

The Girard Mandrel-Pig consists of a solid steel body with polyurethane or rubber cup and disc wear parts as well as optional accessories for specific applications. This design allows for the easy onsite removal and replacement of the cups, discs and other wear parts with little downtime. Mandrel-Pig types include cleaning & batching, brush pigs and replacement spares are also available. The Girard Mandrel Pig Design. The Girard Mandrel Pigs' cups and discs are available in Polyurethane, Neoprene and Nitrile in various durometers for superior scraping and sealing. They attach to the Girard Mandrel Pig either through a center-hole for smaller sizes (standard 3” thru 14”) or bolt-hole circles for larger sizes (standard 16” and up). The number of cups and discs as well as their arrangement can be customized to accommodate certain applications and desired results. This gives the Girard Mandrel Pig the ability to overcome some of the most difficult pipeline obstacles such as short pipeline bends, tees and multi-diameter pipelines. The ability to add Brushes, Magnets, Gauging Plates and other options to the nearly limitless configurations of the Girard Mandrel Pig make it an excellent choice for pipeline cleaning, batching, gauging, displacement, bi-directional, dual-diameter, hydrostatic testing and removal of paraffin and scale build-up.

Girard - Pig-Valve Pigs

The Girard Pig-Valve Pigs are specifically designed for use in pig launching and receiving valves. They are available in open cell polyurethane foam, solid cast urethane or even solid steel body with polyurethane wear parts. To handle the varying pipeline applications these pig are available in multiple configurations included cup & disc, bi-directional and wire brushes. Girard Pig-Valve Pigs are made of the highest quality polyurethane elastomer available and feature one-piece solid polyurethane construction so no assembly is necessary. Our Pig-Valve Pigs are engineered for longer wear and abrasion resistance. They are versatile and can be run in LPG, crude oil, natural gas, saltwater and product lines as well as liquid removal.

Girard - Polly-Pig

The Girard Polly-Pig is constructed of open cell polyurethane foam of various densities and is available with various types of external coatings. Although each pig has a specific application, some are interchangeable according to the user's preference within certain parameters. The Polly-Pig is molded of polyurethane foam material of light, medium, or heavy density. Its bullet shape is designed to aid in traversing fittings and valves. Concave ends are available for bi-directional service. The length of the pig is approximately twice its diameter to reduce the possibility of the pig tumbling in the pipeline. The diameter of the Polly-Pig is larger than the inside diameter of the pipe. This is done to exert a frictional drag between the foam pig and pipe wall. Pigs can be ordered to any custom size requirements. There are four basic types of Polly-Pigs: drying, wiping, cleaning, and scraping. Each are available in three grades of durability: light, medium, and heavy densities. The Girard Polly Pig Design. Polly-Pigs have a concave base plate with a 90A durometer polyurethane coating. This provides a maximum rear sealing surface for the propelling forces of the fluids or gases being used. Swabs or bare pigs, which have only the bases coated, are normally used in drying or batching operations. Special double-nose or double-dished pigs are used in bi-directional service. The exterior coatings on the foam bodies consist of criss-cross type spirals of 90A durometer polyurethane. These spirals add strength and give greater wiping and scraping action as compared with bare foam.

Girard - Girard Solid and Inflatable Polyurethane Spheres

Girard solid and inflatable polyurethane spheres are manufactured in a range of durometers for pipeline and meter prover applications. Neoprene, Nitrile and Viton spheres are also available for special applications. To achieve the maximum performance Girard inflatable spheres must be properly filled and sized. Specific applications will determine the most effective sizing and filler fluid to be used.
