GLOBAL CHLOR® CALCIUM HYPOCHLORITE – also known as Chlorine MOLECULAR FORMULA: Ca(ClO)2 CAS NO.: 7778-54-3 USES: Global Chlor® Calcium Hypochlorite also known as Chlorine is widely used for water treatment and bleaching agent for paper and textiles like cotton and linen. It is also used as bactericide, deodorant, sterilizer, disinfectant for swimming pools and bathrooms to remove moss, weed killers and algae. It can be used to manufacture chloroform and as a bleaching powder in sugar industry for bleaching sugar cane juice before its crystallization.

These additives are often used to enhance the appearance of color of fabric, paper and plastics, causing a "whitening" effect. It makes intrinsically yellow /orange materials look less by adding the deficit in blue and purple light reflected by the material, with the blue and purple optical emission of the fluorophore.
