For all companies - small, mid-size and large - GPA Midstream’s increased presence on Capitol Hill, frequent communications with legislators and regulators, and heightened focus on state midstream issues in the key states of Arkansas, Colorado, Kansas, Louisiana, New Mexico, North Dakota, Ohio, Oklahoma, Pennsylvania, Texas and Wyoming, serve to protect members’ interests in matters that companies might not otherwise be involved. For major companies, our proactive involvement in the areas described not only supplement what member company employees with such responsibilities are doing, but also serve as an extension to their capabilities.

GPA Midstream`s cooperative research program has received worldwide recognition because of its successes and benefits to the global midstream industry. For more than 50 years, our program has been a successful model for leveraged research and has helped provide the basic data needed to increase the efficiency and environmental performance of gas processing facilities. Data from the program have been used in all facets of gas processing and treating design and operation, with an estimated value worth more than 10 times its $14 million investment.

Operating safely, whether in an office setting or in the field, is critical to the success of our member companies and the midstream industry. Despite involving volatile substances at high pressures, our industry has a superb safety record. GPA Midstream`s Safety Committee has contributed to this record by bringing together safety managers from member companies whom share experiences and ideas that can be used by all to upgrade safety practices at their own facilities.
