Gurit Kerdyn is a recyclable thermoplastic core material known for its adaptability and a well-balanced set of mechanical properties, temperature resistance, density, and cost-effectiveness across diverse applications. The material demonstrates compatibility with various resin systems, such as epoxy, vinyl ester, unsaturated polyester, and phenolic resins, making it extremely versatile. Capable of high-temperature processing and high exotherm endurance, it exhibits strong chemical resistance and adhesive properties. As an extruded foam, Kerdyn is particularly suited for applications in wind energy, marine, industrial, and transportation sectors. Its availability in various densities and thicknesses provides further customization potential. Notably, Kerdyn is produced from up to 100% recycled PET, integrating post-consumer PET bottle waste into the production cycle, thereby contributing to a sustainable value chain from waste materials to a finished core material.

Gurit offers a full range of hinges with different capacities and arm sizes catered to blade mould sizes from 50 to 150 m. The turning system can precisely close the two halves of the mould and control angular positions. Gurit’s hinge portfolio includes arms with sizes and torque capacities ranging from 320 to 800 kNm. The latest hinge generation is modular, this enables a fast and low-cost installation, providing the ability to expand and reconfigure the system.

Gurit’s blade cavity cooling system shortens the cooling wait time to de-mould the finished blades without damaging the bonding lines. The system extracts the hot air inside the blade’s cavity and exchanges it for chilled air.
