Stream Restoration Services

HARP has over 15 years of experience in natural channel based stream restoration and enhancement for mitigation of impacts set forth by CWA 404/401 IP projects. In collaboration with trusted engineering and land survey partners, HARP has led stream design efforts for approximately 46,500 linear feet of streams and rivers for NC State DOT, NCDENR EEP, for various County and Municipal agencies (e.g. CMUD, and Forsyth/Winston Salem Utilities), and for private clients. HARP`s early restoration projects (mid 1990`s) were some of the first stream restoration projects in North Carolina undertaken using a natural reference reach approach and provided a test-bed for the NC DWQ`s interim stream restoration protocols that were the predecessor to the current interagency North Carolina Guidelines for Stream Restoration.

Environmental Assessments Services

HARP can facilitate the analysis of any tract of land with respect to plant communities, animal communities, and wetlands, describing past management and other natural resource related issues. These studies provide input into land planning for residential and commercial developments, highways, parks, gardens, airports and golf courses. These surveys may simply be a report outlining findings on a site, or the surveys may result in Environmental Assessments (EA) and/or Environmental Impact Statements (EIS). These official documents are often prepared for regulatory and permitting agencies on large-scale projects or for projects in environmentally sensitive areas.
