FTIR - Attenuated Total Reflectance (ATR)
VideoMVP - Single Reflection ATR Microsampler
The VideoMVP™ offers all the advantages of a high performance diamond ATR accessory plus video imaging and optional force sensing capabilities. The VideoMVP™ features a convenient horizontal sampling with an active sampling area of less than 500 µm in diameter on its monolithic diamond. This makes it ideal for infrared spectroscopy measurements of extremely hard samples, abrasive powders, fibers, beads, and even corrosive materials. The video imaging system provides a real-time magnified view of the sample through the ATR crystal.
ConcentratIR2 - Multiple Reflection ATR
The ConcentratIR2™ is a miniature multiple-reflection ATR accessory, compatible with the smaller FTIR sample compartments. Designed for micro-liquid samples, it features interchangeable diamond and silicon ATR sampling plates. Both ATR configurations consist of a thin disk of silicon or diamond that is optically contacted to a special ZnSe optic. The silicon configuration has eleven internal reflections with a nominal incident angle of 30° and is suitable for use from 4000 cm-1 to 650 cm-1. The diamond ATR has ten internal reflections with a nominal angle of incidence of 45° and has an approximate wavelength range from 4000 cm-1 to 550 cm-1; because of diamond lattice bands, the signal-to-noise ratio is limited in the vicinity of 2000 cm-1. Adjustments are provided to maximize performance and optical throughput. The ConcentratIR2™ is fully enclosed for rapid sample exchange with minimal interruption of the purge.
FTIR - Diffuse
Praying Mantis - Diffuse Reflection Attachment (DRIFTS)
The Praying Mantis™ was the first generally available diffuse reflection (DRIFTS) attachment and remains the forerunner in the field. It is a highly efficient diffuse collection system that minimizes the detection of the specular component. Ellipsoids pivot to provide easy access to the sampling area and incorporates to 6:1, 90° off-axis ellipsoids which form a highly efficient diffuse reflection illumination and collection system. This unique configuration deflects the specular reflectance away from the collecting ellipsoid, minimizing the associated spectral distortions. The Praying Mantis™ also can be configured to study materials and reactions in controlled environments with the appropriate diffuse reflectance reaction chamber.
Praying Mantis - High Temperature Reaction Chambers
The Praying Mantis™ High Temp. Reaction Chamber is particularly effective for powders that have high surface areas. This makes diffuse reflectance a valuable tool for studying heterogeneous catalysis, gas-solid interactions, photochemical reactions, and oxidation mechanisms. This High Temperature Reaction Chamber is well suited for performing such studies under carefully controlled temperatures and pressures. High Temp. Reaction Chamber applications allow diffuse reflection (DRIFTS) spectroscopic measurements under controlled pressures and a wide range of temperatures. It is used in conjunction with the Praying Mantis™ Accessory for FT-IR and UV-VIS diffuse reflectance spectroscopy. Other models available for Low Volume and Raman spectroscopy.
FTIR - Transmission
Demountable Liquid Cells
These leak-free FTIR transmission cells are the only Demountable Liquid Cells that you will ever need. Our Demountable Liquid Cells are made from chemically resistant 316 stainless steel and feature easily changed pathlength spacers. They are perfect for infrared transmission measurements of liquids, mulls, and smears; process control and laboratory applications; and static or flow environments.
FTIR - Specular/External
Seagull - Variable Angle FTIR Reflectance Spectroscopy Accessory
The Seagull™ is a powerful accessory for examining powders, optical coatings, opaque substrates, films on opaque substrates, and slightly curved solids by variable angle FT-IR reflectance spectroscopy. This accessory easily adapts for specular, ATR or diffuse reflectance measurements. The Seagull™ operates over a broad range of incident angles without misaligning the system, defocusing the incident radiation, or changing polarization. This makes it an extremely versatile and flexible tool for FT-IR spectroscopy. The Seagull™ also allows changes in the incident angle without interrupting the spectrometer purge. The Seagull™ is excellent for examining solids by specular reflectance or ATR, for studying liquids and films on liquids by specular reflectance, for depth profiling, and for determining optical constants.
FTIR - Multipurpose
FiberMate - Fiber Optic Coupler for FT-IR Spectrometers
The FiberMate2™ links your FT-IR or UV-Vis spectrometer to fiber optic probes. Equipped with large ellipsoidal mirrors, the FiberMate2™ efficiently transmits the UV-Vis or FTIR beam of the spectrometer through the fiber optic probe. The FiberMate2™ utilizes all reflective optics, optimizing the wavelength range of the fiber optic probe employed. FiberMate2™ comes with two SMA connectors for easy installation of the fiber optic probe and it is equipped with PermaPurge™ to maintain the purge of the system. The FiberMate2™ interfaces external optical systems to the spectrometer and is well-suited for optical testing of fiber optics for photonics applications.
UV-VIS - Diffuse
Praying Mantis - Low Temperature Reaction Chambers
Diffuse reflection spectroscopy is a very sensitive method for detecting changes at the surfaces of rough materials. It is particularly effective for powders that have high surface areas. This makes diffuse reflectance invaluable for studies of heterogeneous catalysis, gas-solid interactions, photochemical reactions, and oxidation mechanisms. This Low Temperature Reaction Chamber is well suited for performing such studies under carefully variable temperatures and pressures. These Low Temperature Reaction Chamber allow diffuse reflection measurements under a wide range of controlled temperatures and pressures and are used in conjunction with the Praying Mantis Accessory for FT-IR and UV-Vis diffuse reflectance spectroscopy.
UV-VIS - Specular/External
Omni-Spec - Specular Reflectance Probe for Spectrometers
The Omni-Spec™ is a 45° specular reflectance probe for sampling outside of the sample compartment. Designed to interface to virtually any spectrometer via fiber optics, this compact accessory comes with input and output SMA connectors that readily attached to fiber optic couplers, such as the Harrick FiberMate2™. A selection of UV-Vis, NIR and mid-IR fiber optics is offered for use up to 1.5 meters away from the spectrometer. A USB2 video camera is also available for real-time imaging and photographic documentation of the sample. The Omni-Spec™ is ideal for examining a variety of samples, including optical coatings, opaque substrates and films thereon, and contaminants on reflective surfaces. It is also well suited for in-line diffuse reflectance of powders and rough-surfaced solids.
UV-VIS - Transmission
Temperature Controlled Gas Cell for Transmission Spectroscopy
Harrick`s Temperature Controlled Gas Cell is ideal for examining gases and gaseous mixtures for static or flow environments by transmission spectroscopy. This cell features a beam conforming geometry, thereby minimizing volume and maximizing the interaction of the beam with the sample. This 316 stainless steel cell has a 10 cm pathlength and operates from ambient temperatures up to 240°C. This makes it adaptable for evolved gas analysis (EGA) in combination with thermogravimetric analysis for TGA-EGA-FTIR. The Temperature Controlled Gas Cell is equipped with a K-type thermocouple and low-voltage heaters, designed for optimium performance with the Harrick Temperature Controller.
