HazChem LLC training

This class is designed to fulfill the OSHA 1910.120 requirement that all persons working with hazardous materials must complete an annual 8-Hour refresher training to remain HAZWOPER certified. The course is designed for persons that respond to and work around a wide variety of hazardous materials. It is especially useful to public health departments, clean-up contractors, code enforcement, or anyone that works with hazardous materials. The course uses case studies and actual incidents to create a relevant refresher training class.

This class will provide the hazardous materials responder or technician the training to properly classify hazardous chemicals. The hands-on class will instruct students to apply the skills necessary to make informal decisions to comply with federal regulations and provide safety procedures for personal and public response duties.

Course length is 8 hours per day. (1 day). This is a hazardous matreials chemistry course that is based on real world incidents and case studies. It covers all aspects of the chemistry needed by a Hazmat responder to safely determine the possible dangers present at a Hazmat incident. Course topics include: Basic Chemistry for the HazMat Responder, Dangerous Physical and Chemical Properties, Organic Chemistry for HazMat Responders, Unknown White Powder Incidents, Instrumentation, Incompatible Substances, Hands-On Chemical Hazard Classification Training (Hazclass).

Course length is 4 hours. This class is designed to fulfill the requirements of the OSHA Hazardous Materials Communication and Awareness Class, 29CFR 1910.1200. The course covers new changes to the Occupational Safety and Health Administration`s (OSHA) Hazard Communication Standard and alignment with the Globally Harmonized System of Classification and Labeling of Chemicals (GHS), including the new Safety Data Sheets (SDS) formats.
