Hellma Materials CaF₂ has been utilized as an optical key material in microlithography for semiconductor production for many years. CaF₂ is established as an industry standard material for excimer laser optics in projection and illumination optics. The unique optical properties of CaF₂ enable a variety of advanced applications.

Hellma Materials BaF₂ features an excellent transmittance in the VIS and IR spectral ranges up to 12µm. This allows the usage of BaF₂ as broadband optical material in the VIS and IR dual-channel systems for visible and thermal imaging. BaF₂ has a lower refractive index than many other optical materials. This reduces transmission losses caused by Fresnel-reflection.

Shape: Block glass. Two mutually opposite lateral faces buffed up for testing. Other faces natural-blank or cut. Edges rounded.

Length: For 2.5 mm – 5 mm radius: 1 mm – 40 mm. For 5 mm – 10 mm radius: 5 mm – 100 mm. For 10 mm – 1000 mm radius: 10 mm – 600 mm. For 30 mm – 70 mm radius: up to 3000 mm.

Radius range: 2.5 mm – 10,000 mm radius.  Length: 5 mm – 200 mm.  Width: 5 mm – 200 mm.

Dimensions: Rectangular: edge length 0.5 mm – 600 mm. Round: diameter 0.5 mm – 600 mm.  Thickness: 0.1 mm – 50 mm (depending on size).  supplied with an anti-reflection coating.

Material: Special optics require materials with a refractive index > 1.7.
