Herco Wassertechnik GmbH products
Herco - Model EKP - Cleaning and Descaling Pumps
Herco’s EKP cleaning and descaling pumps have a multi-way control valve to enable stepless control of the pressure and delivery rate, as well as for controlling the flow and return flow. All of the components that come into contact with the media are made of acid-resistant and alkali-resistant materials. The pumps can be operated with cold and hot water up to 50 °C.
Herco - Model LF-CC - Blowdown Units
If pure water vaporises or evaporates in water circuits it leads to a thickening or salting of the water contents. Blowdown units automatically control the salt content in the circulating water and protect cooling water circuits from water-related deposits and corrosion. The blowdown units and bypass measuring distances are for monitoring and limiting thickening in open coolant circuits and air washers. Herco offers pre-assembled, ready-to-connect blowdown unit for automatic control of the salt content in the circulating water of cooling and humidifier circuits. Depending on the controller, the unit has lots of different settings and logging options. Up to three dosing pumps can be actuated simultaneously.
Herco - Water Softening Units
In the softening unit, calcium ions (Ca2+) and magnesium ions (Mg2+), which are hardeners present in natural water, are exchanged for sodium ions (Na+). Ion exchangers are used for this process. The ion exchangers consist of spherical synthetic pellets based on polystyrene. They are also commonly referred to as exchange resins. However, the absorption capacity of the ion exchanger for the hardness constituents to be removed from the raw water is limited. After a certain amount of water has flowed through, the ion exchanger is exhausted and must be regenerated. The following applies: the higher the hardness of the water to be treated, the more frequently regeneration is required. Regeneration is achieved with dissolved table salt (NaCl).
Herco - Pressure Booster Units
If municipal utilities do not deliver a constant volumetric flow/mains pressure to the intake of a unit, then a pressure booster unit can be integrated into the system in order to ensure constant pressure. This is required before or after the softener / reverse osmosis. The unit maintains the selected operating pressure at a constant rate by adjusting the frequency, even when the required flow keeps changing. This means partial load operation is possible in wide flow ranges.
Herco - Mixed-Bed Water Demineralisation Units
Water demineralisation using a mixed-bed refers to a water treatment process used to produce high-purity water with extremely low levels of dissolved solids and ions. To remove dissolved (dissociated) ions, special cation and anion exchange resins are used in water treatment. They take in the ions that have dissolved in the water and in their place give out an equivalent amount of different ions of the same charge to the water. This produces fully demineralised water.
Herco - Filtration System
Filtration is an essential process in water treatment. It is used to remove contaminants such as particles, suspended matter, bacteria, organic substances and chemicals from the water. This primarily mechanical process, which can also have physical and chemical filtration effects, focusses on the separation or purification of suspensions or solutions. The substances in the water fall into two categories: solid particles and dissolved substances. Solid particles such as suspended solids and granular particles are almost completely removed by filtration if the particle size and density are high enough. In this process, the water flows through a porous medium (filter media) that retains the relevant particles on the surface or inside.
Herco - Hardness Monitoring Units Limitent and Limitron
Automatic hardness monitoring for continuous control of the soft water downstream of water softening units. Automatic switch off of a downstream reverse osmosis unit in the event of hardness breakthrough. For their operation neither water nor chemicals are consumed.
Herco - Reverse Osmosis Units
Reverse osmosis plays a central role in water treatment for industrial applications. It is an effective method for removing impurities, salts and other undesirable other undesirable substances. Water treatment systems utilise the principle of reverse osmosis to purify water efficiently.
Herco - Ultrapure Water / ElectroDeionization System
Electrodeionisation (abbreviated to “EDI”) or electrodialysis is a process for the continuous desalination of permeate from a reverse osmosis unit. An EDI module consists of several chambers that are separated from one another by ion-selective membranes. The chambers are filled with ion exchange resin and arranged between two DC electrodes.
