The SKIT/S-DEB Bilge separator complies with IMO Resolution MEPC.107(49). The Skit/S-DEB combines the efficient open porous coalescer with a second stage emulsion breaking oil and hydrocarbon polisher to achieve consistent and reliable performance. Periodic back flushing assures coalescer efficacy for long lasting, maintenance free operation.

DECKMA is a global leader in bilge effluent monitoring. DECKMA was one of the first manufacturers to receive IMO resolution MEPC.107(49) approval for their OMD-2005 Bilge Alarm. Today DECKMA supplies to Bilge Separator manufacturers the newer version OMD-24, and for retrofitting of existing installations the OMD-24 and 2008. All systems are MEPC.107(49) approved and they are Transport Canada certified for the 5ppm Canadian inland water requirements.
 

The ABANAKI TOTE-IT belt skimmer is, in our opinion, the most cost effective way for the immediate removal of free oil from the bilge.

The limitations in removing oil from water are dictated by physics. The smaller the suspended oil droplet, the longer oil takes to separate out. In addition, the smaller the oil droplet, the bigger its surface tension, thereby it becomes more difficult for oil drops to join, i.e. to coalesce. Therefore, the oily water separator when processing bilge water will reach a boundary condition beyond which coalescence is no longer possible. This limit depends on the viscosity and density of the oil, as well as agitation of the bilge. Separation to the legal ppm limit is possible under favorable condition. On board ships, that is rarely the case.  The PFM filter uses absorption media to remove hydrocarbons from the effluent. The media absorbs emulsified and residual oils, which the separator is unable to remove.

The Delitek DT-200i waste compactor is a rugged compactor, designed for the harsh marine environment. The dimensions of the systems permit installation indoors and the heavy duty construction and components assure reliable service outdoors as well. The Delitek system uses roll-in bins, which make for easy segregation of the waste streams, facilitating recycling of various materials.
