The ECOMELT PS furnace type melts scrap efficiently and cost-effectively at high melting rates. It is built for scrap material like painted profiles with thermal break, baled litho sheets, UBC (used beverage cans), etc. containing up to 10 percent organic compounds. The preheat preheat compartment of this type can be charged with several batch loads. This results in a melting capacity of 12 tons per hour (240 tons per day). Equally impressive is the low specific energy consumption of as little as 370 to 450 kilowatt-hour per ton.

If you use loose scrap types with moderate organic contamination, the best option for you is a multi-chamber furnace with a preheat ramp – the ECOMELT PR furnace. The scrap rate is up to 200 tons per day.

Hertwich offers VDC billet casting machines based on proprietary design. To date several casters have been commissioned for both - billets for extrusion and forging as well as rolling slabs. The Hertwich VDC casters are compatible with all major brands of casting tooling.

For mainstream AA6000 series alloys the Continuous homogenizing concept is the first choice. The majority of these billets are homogenized in one of the 130 continuous homogenizing furnaces manufactured by Hertwich.
