Hubbell Radio Control Systems use the latest synthesizer technology and GFSK modulation. Each system also incorporates Listen Before Talk (LBT) transmission before communication is established. The radio system operates on a non-licensed frequency band of 433.10 - 434.75 MHz or 915 MHz. Typical operating range is up to 300 ft. line of sight.

Type 4010 is a simple, easy-to-understand system with smooth, timed or frequency responsive acceleration and plugging control of wound rotor motors used on travel motions for all types of cranes.  The motor is started with all the rotor resistance in the circuit.  Clapper contactors in the controller short out the external rotor resistance in timed or frequency responsive steps, under control of a master switch, to provide smooth and rapid acceleration.  During reversing, a frequency sensitive plugging relay prevents all of the secondary resistor contactors from closing until the motor is practically at rest.  This keeps all of the external rotor resistance in the circuit during reversal to provide safe, controlled stopping.

Hubbell`s S²MC Solid State Stepless Motor Controls are ideal for controlling overhauling loads such as lift bridges, bridge cranes, bucket/grapple cranes, portal/whirly cranes, turbine cranes, tramways, and coke oven drives. Utilizing AC induction motors (squirrel cage and wound rotor) the line of S²MC controllers are available in both primary thyristor (4920 series) and secondary thyristor (4940 series) through 500 hp, or more, and capable of operating on 208/230/380/460/575, 3 phase VAC, 50/60 Hz.  The line of S²MC controls have been successfully applied on hundreds of applications for over 15 years.
