Hydro-Air - Microfiltration System
Microfiltration is the most open cross-flow filtration device. Typical application of this low pressure process is the removal of high molecular weight compounds such as bacteria, fats, yeasts and fungi: clarification of chemical, biological, pharmaceutical or food solutions, product purification, waste water treatment.
Hydro-Air - Ultrafiltration Systems (UF)
UF is a low pressure process for selective filtration of molecules of specified size and weight. Material ranging in size from 1000 MW to 1.000.000 MW are retained by UF membrane while lower molecular weight compounds, salts and water are passing through. Typical applications of UF membrane are concentration and recovery of high molecular weight compounds separation/removal of contaminants, clarification, removal of colloids and suspended solids, thus being used as pretreatment for reverse osmosis units.
Hydro-Air - Nanofiltration & Reverse Osmosis Systems
Nanofiltration is a pressure driven process similar to Reverse Osmosis (RO) applied in the area between RO and UF. Monovalent ions and low molecular weight organics are passing through the membrane, while bigger compounds are rejected. MW cut off of a NF membrane is in the range 150-500 and typical application is in pharmaceutical preparations, removal of colour, of hardness from water.

Hydro-Air - Model NARO - Reverse Osmosis System
Hydro Air Research Italia has developed a reverse osmosis system able to concentrate the total dissolved solids to higher levels than the ones reachable with the traditional reverse osmosis systems, with better energy efficiency and optimal membranes performance. This patented system is called NARO SYSTEM.
Hydro-Air - Solvent Stable Membrane
Hydro Air Research Italia is able to design and manufacture complete systems for purification and/or concentration processes in presence of organic solvents, by means of different membranes, organic or inorganic, suitable for the purpose.
Hydro-Air - Model BioHAR - Membrane BioReactor (MBR)
BioHAR Membrane Bioreactor is a combination of an activated sludge biological system and an ultrafiltration system, for an optimal removal of organic contaminants in waste streams.
Hydro-Air - Pervaporation Low Pressure Membrane
Pervaporation is a low pressure membrane process for organic solvent drying and concentration. Pervaporation or vapour permeation (depending if the separation is performed in liquid phase or gas phase) is an optimal process to break azeotropes and solve bottlenecking problems at competitive costs.
Hydro Air - Chromatography System
Hydro Air Research Italia, in collaborative effort with international institutes and adsorbent manufacturer, built an expertise in designing process for different industrial chromatographic separations for molecules from antibiotics, natural active ingredients of plant origin, synthetic peptides, synthetic APIs, to macromolecules like enzymes, antibodies and plasmid DNA, DNA and RNA . Resins offered by Hydro Air Research Italia are rich in range of interactions as well as range of particle and pore sizes, they offer advantages like rigidity and stability to autoclaving and harsh CIP (cleaning in place) and SIP (sanitization in place) procedures.
Hydro Air - Evaporation/Crystallization System
Hydro Air Research Italia started to design evaporators and crystallizers as complementary equipment to membrane separation systems. The particular requirements of the handled fluids led Hydro Air Research Italia to develop its own evaporation "state of the art", and to manufacture the equipments following the ISO 9001 quality standard according to the company mission.
