The customer-inspired Hermes 24/7 establishes a new standard for simplicity and compactness in completely automated, image-based experimentation. Designed, manufactured and supported by IDEA Bio-Medical, the Hermes 24/7 consists of a robotic arm for fully automated sample manipulation and a WiScan Hermes high content imaging system together on a dedicated cart. The robotic arm can interface with liquid handlers, stackers or incubators to enable fully automated scanning with manipulator and imager from a single supplier. In designing our new Hermes 24/7 automated system, we aimed to empower labs to utilize existing infrastructure to expand their capabilities while minimizing the amount of valuable lab space occupied. The cart supporting the sample manipulator and WiScan Hermes has a foot print of only 110 x 84 cm (43.3 x 33 inches) and a height of 155 cm (61 inches). The dedicated cart is mobile to permit dynamic use of your lab space. Hermes 24/7 can include a fixed floor docking mount for precision re-positioning. In this fashion users can disengage the system from other equipment, such as a liquid handler, and later re-dock it with no re-integration step required.

Oil Vs. Air objectives: shorter illumination times, brighter images & enhanced resolution. Same sample of Yeast obtained at 2 different 60X magnifications. Same image contrast is achieved in both. However, with 60X/1.4NA oil immersion objective, we reach 60% shorter illumination times, brighter images and enhanced resolution. With IDEA Bio-Medical’s NEW precision oil dispensing unit on Hermes imaging system, you can now quickly & easily get such images in fully autonomous plate scanning.
