Seawater Chlorination
Use of chlorine for control of biological fouling in power plant cooling water system is the most effective way of controlling bio-fouling at reasonable concentration as chlorine is available at a low cost. Chlorine Gas feeders are simple and easy to control at low capital cost and requires minimum maintenance. The chlorine residual for shock dosing can be relatively short and in expensive. De-toxification (dechlorination) systems can be installed at a very nominal cost to meet the environmental requirement.

Frame Mounted Chlorinators Capacities upto 10 Kg/Hr
Model WM Frame mounted Chlorinators are solution feed, vacuum operated, frame mounted type. A series of eight rotameters provide capacities of 0.2 to 10 Kg/Hr .Feed range is 20 to 1 for any one rotameter. The flow meter maintains the set feed rate within 4% of indicated flow.

Vacuum Type Cabinet
Vacuum Type Cabinet - Model R103 Model R-103 floor cabinet mounted Chlorinators are vacuum operated solution feed devices available with wall mounted remote vacuum regulator. The injector is floor mounted away from the Chlorinator. The cabinet houses a rotameter, a flow control valve, a differential regulator and a vacuum relief valve.

IEC Fabchem - Sea Water Electro-Chlorination
IEC has 20 years of experience in biofouling control through electrolysis of sea water to product sodium hypochlorite. These plants are frequently used in thermal power , Nuclear power, offshore and LNG plants. Sea water passes through the precious metal coated electrodes placed in an electrolysing chamber. The natural brine present in sea water is turned into a potent called sodium hypochlorite. The concentration of sodium hypo from the system is normally 2000 PPM. This concentrated solution is first degassed to remove the by product- hydrogen. The degassed solution is then diluted to about 2 PPM and dosed at various locations in the sea water supply line.
IEC Fabchem - Brine Electro-Chlorination System
Generation of chlorine based stable solutions from Brine provides a safe alternative to chlorine gas feeding for biofouling and disinfection applications. The system is capable of generating a sodium hypochlorite solution of 0.8 % strength and comes in a modular skid mounted plug and play package. Smaller systems below 200 grams/hour of chlorine equivalent are offered as batch systems with each batch typically lasting one standard shift (8-hours). Larger systems are offered in continuous once through configuration with the output from the cell reaching 0.8 % hypochlorite.

The year is 1963, Our founder P.S. Nathan is busy developing an indigenous chlorine gas feeder. By the end of the year he manages to convince the Public Health department of Ahmedabad to try his equipment. The result-M443 gas feed “semi-vacuum” chlorinator becomes the first successful indigenous chlorination plant. The installation becomes a reference for Indian self-reliance in the disinfection business. The plant operated well into the 1980’s before its de-commissioning.

A multi-media filter is employed to reduce the level of suspended solids in process water. Suspended solids can consist of particles such as silt, clay, grit, organic matter. The filtration degree of a multi-media filter depends heavily on the filter media and flow (velocity) through the filter.
