Drinking Water Treatment

If drinking water is taken from dams or from rivers, very often a very important component part of the treatment process are sedimentation tanks, with upstream coagulation and precipitation.

Sand Filter Scrapers

In order to carry the sedimentous sand out of a tank (sand trap), one can use bridge scrapers with shields, as well as suction scrapers fitted with an air-lift pump or an immersion pump. With sand filtering, the wastewater has to be freed of sand particles, since sand would cause problems in the later stages of the water cleansing cycle and is also abrasive.

Bogensiebe Static Screen

Flotation Systems

Pressure-release flotation has established itself in many industrial branches as one of the most effective methods of wastewater treatment. What this consists of is a constant air/water mixture of fine bubbles under high pressure at the system inlet point, which carry the dirt particles up onto the water surface as they emerge. The K-Pack Flotation device works most efficiently exactly where the bubble flow is generated and enters. An extremely thick and homogenous air bubble inflow makes it possible to achieve virtually complete separation of allowable and filtratable materials.

Lamella Purifiers

Lamella separators are used in wastewater treatment for separating out allowable materials. The sets of fins, which surge in the same direction as, or against, the flow, or even at right angles to the flow, sediment out the solid matter particles, separate them from rising lighter materials, e.g. oils and fats, and carry them away. Choosing fin distances and the angle at which they are installed correctly has a major bearing on the operating safety and low maintenance of a purifier. The advantages of a lamella separator are, predominantly, the fact that it requires less space and that it is efficient.
