Compliance audits are a requirement for all PSM facilities under OSHA 29 CFR 1910.119, and EPA 40 CFR Part 68 68.58 that contain a threshold quantity of a highly hazardous chemical. PSM requires employers to perform a process hazard analysis of every process involving usage & production of hazardous chemicals. Hazard analysis must be performed as per documented priority list which can be based upon several factors such as number of potentially affected employees, age of the process, history of the process, etc. Every five years you are required to reevaluate and revalidate your Process Hazard Analysis.
