IMDC can assist you in determining the optimal dredging equipment for your project or in completing or renewing your dredging fleet.  Based on the practical experience of it`s staff and its good relationships with ship builders and dredging equipment suppliers, IMDC provides hands-on advise including optimisation studies (increase of dredging performance) and estimates of capital and operational costs of selected equipment.

The environmental aspects of dredging have become increasingly important. Both clients (project owners) and contractors are confronted with environmental requirements becoming ever more stringent . With a thorough knowledge of relevant international legislation, and thanks to the  extensive practical experience of its employees, IMDC can provide assistance for a wide range of application areas: environmental management and control plans, risk assessment, design of containment areas, evaluation of different disposal and treatment options, beneficial reuse of dredged material, permits and EIA`s, mitigating measures, plume modelling and monitoring of dredging activities.

In hydraulic and hydrologic river modelling, numerical computation techniques are frequently used to better understand the behaviour of river systems in terms of discharge, water levels and floods. IMDC is mastering a wide range of different models to study these problems and to use these models to elaborate measures to prevent flood damages.

IMDC can deliver a wide range of services to design and implement your real time flood forecasting system. These systems combine many components, like numerical weather predictions, telemetry systems, hydrologic models and hydraulic models to obain a reliable, fail-safe system. The flood forecasting systems are used by civil protection services and water managers to manage their systems.
